The Doubletree is a high profile, full service; all-suite hotel located two blocks from the Texas State Capitol that caters to business, legislative, social and leisure groups / individuals. This award-winning member of the Hilton corporate family is popular with both short and long term guests and is a well-established site for meetings and social events. Because we offer Austin’s most spacious and comfortable suites, many State Legislators, judges and lobbyists consider the Doubletree their home away from home during each legislative session.
As Director of Sales & Marketing, I head a Sales and Catering Team that includes 7 full time sales professionals and two administrative assistants. My responsibilities include hiring, training, motivating and leading this team to achieve the hotel’s annual budgeted revenue goals. At all times, my attention is focused not only on the bottom line but also on implementing a sales and marketing strategy designed to attract business from a variety of key target markets. As second in command, I also serve as acting general manager when my GM is out of the hotel.
In addition, I have personally developed and maintain several large group accounts, including one that I was able to continue under contract despite a 30% rate increase over 2007. I have recently closed a weekend group account, which represents $300,000 in rooms’ revenue for weekend nights that extends from now throughout summer 2008 and is poised to sign an annual contract to serve the crews of a major airline at a nightly rate of $149.50.

Joined this property as a Sales Assistant in 1995 and was promoted to Corporate IBT Sales Manager in 1996 and Director of Sales and Marketing in 1998, where I remained until 2001.

• Embassy Suites Hotel was 80% corporate transient based hotel with 20% group base. As Director of Sales, I increased revenue by growing corporate group accounts through building strong client relationships and excellent client service.
• Hired, trained, developed and supervised highly successful sales and catering team.
• Increased RevPar by 20% year over year.
• In 1999, I was able to take one account that had previously produced 20 room nights per month to 1,000 rooms per month producing $1,700,000 annually.
