After the initial excitement from study abroad trip, I had a chance to consider the long-term impact such experiences had on their professional aspirations and capacity to understand other cultures in a more nuanced and compassionate manner. Within the conference I discussed my study abroad semester to the western coast of Africa and the service learning completed while there.
