Seeking a position as an Electrician/ Technician with full range of responsibilities from maintenance to installation. Highly motivated, quick learner, hard worker and an excellent electrician. I did 13 and a half years in the United States Navy. I was stationed on the USS Ogden LPD 5, Southwest Regional Maintenance Center (Small Boats division) and the USS Nimitz CVN 68, after an Honorable discharge I am ready to take what I have learned in the military and apply it along with the new skills I’ll learn to be the best at what ever i do.

As an electrician onboard the USS Nimitz (CVN-68) I was responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing of one the MOST vital system onboard the USS Nimitz, the Catapults and Arresting Gear. As Catapult Electrician team leader I was tasked with the responsibility of maintaining the readiness of all 4 catapults and all 5 Arresting wires and their associated electrical components whether it be inport San Diego or in the middle of of flight operations during Operation Iraqi Freedom or Operation Enduring Freedom. I was the Leading Petty officer (LPO) for the Visual Landing Aids (VLA) branch of the Aircraft Launching and Recovering Equipment division. As LPO of VLA I was overall in charge of the Integrated Landing and Recovery Television systems, which are detrimental to the safe recoveries and launching practices onboard all Aircraft carriers Navy wide, also I made maintained all the lights on the Flight deck, which ran from various voltages ranging from 28 volts direct current to 440/115 volt alternating current step down transformers feeding spotlights, floodlights, deckedge lights and Capacity Selector valve lights which are critical to the safe launching and recovering of all aircraft assigned to Carrier Strike Group 11.The troubleshooting entailed in depth reading of electrical schematics and understanding the paths of current and electricity that only a seasoned Electrician would be able to do. I also oversaw the Improved Fresnel Lens Optical Landing systems workcenter which is the primary means of guiding pilots both old and new safely onto the Flight deck. I coordinated and directed jobs with Machinists Mates, Hull technicians, Aircraft Boatswains and Interior Communications personnel to maintain the 99% readiness of the Arresting Gear, Catapults and Visual landing aids for the USS Nimitz from August 2006 to the present. Before moving up to Air Department I was in the Engineering Department in the Aircraft and Ordinance shop of Electrical division. i was also in charge of the Electrical tool room where I was responsible for tool control and the maintenance of all electrical portable equipment onboard the USS Nimitz. The equipment that i was in charge of were the 400 Hertz Motor generator sets which are vital in the operations of all Aircraft and all weapons systems onboard and all Aircraft Electrical Servicing Systems stations that provided all aircraft the availability of power during their night and day maintenance actions. All four aircraft elevators, the Boat and Aircraft crane, Divisional doors and Hangar bay doors also fell under my responsibilities. Countless hours of maintenance, troubleshooting, coordination, training and administrative work went into all of the systems mentioned above. As the LPO I led 30 military personnel towards obtaining qualifications as Visual Landing Aids watchstanders and warfare pins which enable all of my junior personnel the opportunity to better and further themselves in their Naval career. I also was Temporarily assigned to Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department where I performed and assisted in scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and troubleshot multiple avionic, electronic attack and electronic countermeasures systems encompassed within the EA-18G Growler by utilizing the systems maintenance planning systems.
ELECTRICIANS MATE, SOUTHWEST REgional maintenance center 2001-2005
As an electrician at Southwest Regional Maintenance center I was assigned to the Small Boats department where i was responsible for the overhauling and repair of all small boat craft for the Third fleet and an occasional casualty repair for Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) and for visiting ships from foreign Navies. Small Boat repair was primarily responsible for the electrical systems of Rigid Hull Inflated Boats (RHIBS), Motor Whale boats, Admirals and Captains gigs. It entailed countless electrical systems revisions, where the electrical systems were being upgraded annually, the electrical system was a 12/ 24 volt direct current set up but it was very complex and detailed. The ability to read schematics and blueprints was pivotal in the maintenance, repair and completion of all of the small craft, making electrical power panels and boards and wiring them to their allotted components, maintaining a battery charging locker and maintaining it to keep up with countless inspections, I was in charge of the Hazmat program where I coordinated with the Hazmat center on base to pick up and drop off all old and new Hazmat to Small Boat repair, shop 51R. There were also administrative duties as well, such as maintaining work packages, keeping the manhours accurate and current, Quality Assurance, where I had to make sure that maintenance personnel were doing their jobs in accordance with the proper Military instruction, also Repair Parts petty officer where I made sure I reviewed the work packages, walked the craft and assessed what parts the job needed to have and made sure that they were delivered on time so there was no hold up in the job at hand. I was also the Tool room custodian for all of Small Boat repair division, where I maintained a strict Tool control program and a proactive and aggressive Electrical safety program which trained Naval personnel on the dangers and hazards of Electricity.

As an electrician onboard the USS Ogden the entire ship was my responsibility, i started off in the Battery Locker where I maintained the heavy duty batteries which were needed to start the Emergency Diesels onboard. I had to maintain daily readings on the batteries on the small boats and Emergency diesels. Other responsibilities were all the galley equipment and the firefighting systems such as the range guard which are installed in all naval ships galleys, the upkeep and operation of the Boat and Aircraft crane, Well deck ramps. I then moved to the Power shop where I maintained all motor controllers, motors, static force converters, lighting, power receptacles, Damage Control equipment, Anchor Windlass and the lights on the flight deck.
