Description:

The RPI (Retail Performance Initiative) project is critical for Nissan North America (NNA) to improve the present process of analyzing dealer performance and enable a proactive approach for analyzing and improving dealer performance. The solution for the same is identified to come in the form of an easy-to-use dealer performance evaluation Business Intelligence tool or infrastructure. Following Reports/Deliverables give a comprehensive logical scope of this RPI project: • Dealer performance reporting • Contact reporting system • Reports.

The module Retail Performance Initiative involves in the extraction of data from the VSAM Files, DB2 data base. The extracted files are compared in the corresponding COBOL compare program through the GDG generations. The input for the compare program is the sorted extraction program. The output of the compare program consists of all added, modified and deleted records. The copy books consist of the record descriptions of all the input as well as output files. All the programs are reviewed and the standards are checked according to the COBOL checklists.

As part of RPI requirement the files related to Master files, Warranty and Parts & PDC, which reside on host mainframes system, need to be extracted and transferred onto RPI server for further processing of the data. Most of these data reside in either DB2 data base or VSAM files within the host system. Application programs and jobs would be created to extract data from these input files and write the same on the flat files before transferring the same on to the RPI server.

Responsibilities:

1 Coding Programs from scratch and developing the corresponding JCL.

2 Preparing the test cases, testing the jobs and reviewing the deliverables.

3 Error Handling in COBOL, VSAM & Db2.

4 Preparing the FTP for all the JOBs.

5 Preparing the Zip files
