Consider and analyze risk factors.
Conduct onsite analysis of pre-existing conditions when applicable.
Perform post-bid analysis and participate in bid review meetings with owner or owner’s representatives.
Initiate and participate in project hand-off meetings.
Investigate value engineering options.
Proficient with both schematic and detailed cost estimating practices as well as project scheduling techniques.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interface with user departments, internal and external customers, consultants, and contractors.
Proficient with personal computers, computer aided drafting systems (CAD), spreadsheet and word processing programs.
Familiarity with general accounting and project cost control techniques.
Wrote division one specifications for individual commercial bid packages, and divisions 2 through 14 for residential projects.
Negotiate, award, and administer contracts with subcontractors for the successful completion of projects in a timely and cost efficient manner.
Wrote estimating procedures manual.
