EDUCATION:
Major: B.S. Agricultural and Biological Engineering Date of Graduation: May 16, 2010
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
PROJECTS:
Boneyard Ecological Engineering Project 2008-2009
Made improvements on current stormwater management practices on campus
Implemented and integrated new diverse ecosystems to further manage water storage and to provide a sound bio-diverse environment
Worked with university Civil Engineering Professor Dr. Herricks and local water resource engineering companies to create the project
Water Quality Project 2008
Designed a wastewater treatment system involving the re-direction of water flow from a river to a wastewater treatment plant to reduce the temperature of Lake Springfield and recover energy from the lake to provide electricity for the town of Springfield
Irrigation System in Sierra Leone 2009
Worked collaboratively in a team to design a cost effective water storage basin to help provide irrigation to an impoverished village in Sierra Leone
Designed the system to provide stable clean water and implement a fish farm as a source of food
Fully formulated design specifications and instructions to construct the project from start to finish
Communicated and worked with a non-profit organization client and University of Illinois agricultural engineering professors to produce the final product
Living Machine and Water Purification Project 2009 -2010
Created an open water purification system to clean wastewater cheaply using biological methods of treatment as an alternative to expensive conventional wastewater treatment processes
Worked with university Agricultural Engineering Professor Dr. Rodriguez to construct the project
Environmental Protection Agency Document 2010
Wrote an extensive EPA document for Agricultural Engineering professor Dr. Prasanta Kalita by taking the major EPA laws and regulations and condensing the information into simpler terms to serve as a future reference
Learned about the major laws to help better understand how the EPA functions
Helped Dr. Prasanta Kalita use the written document as a teaching resource and improve in-class teaching for students
