Automation/Instrumentation Maintenance (Jan’11-Till date)
Maintenance responsibilities:
• Playing a pivotal part in the currently maintenance Vedanta Aluminum Ltd., which is an USD 800 Million investment; has a capacity of 1.44 MMTPA Alumina production rate, 90MW Power Plant.
• Conceptualizing & implementing process modifications for optimizing resource utilization & maximizing productivity; adapting automated systems for streamlining operations to enhance operational efficiency.
• Maintenance of various instruments-RTD, thermocouple, Conductivity transmitter, LIT, FIT, DIT, DP type LIT, anuware FIT, PIT, control valves along with PM & CM. Troubleshooting during fault by tracing the wiring in the panels & modification in Logic of PLC and DCS.
Astutely handled the following Field Instrumentation maintenance functions:
• Review and understand client drawings (P&ID, Instrument Data sheet, I/O database, Loop and Logic Diagrams, Piping GAD & ISOs).
• Supervision and Preparation of basic & detail engineering documents like P & I diagrams, Material Requisition, Specifications, Data Sheets, Loop Wiring Diagrams, Logic Diagrams, Junction box detail, Cable Schedule, Drive Termination Schedule, Cable Tray Layout, Instrument Location Plans, Instrument Hook-up drawings, etc.

Engineering & Project (Jun’08-Dec’10)
Project Responsibilities:
• Successfully finalized Coal quality as received basis instead of ADB & coal feed to boiler quantity changed from 69 tph to 77 tph design to provide required energy to boiler for steam production of 320tph.
• Ultimately sufficing with all engineering details & facilitating in engineering to SSNP (power plant contract) for the design of BTG so as to make 210MW CGPP efficient enough for operation.
• IPP Vs CGPP coal consumption calculation for procurement action. The unit consumption for IPP & CGPP mode considering C30 turbine are 0.973 tph & 0.693 tph respectively.
• Spearheaded Engineering, Procurement & Erection of Hydraulic driven Piston pump DHC26200 1st time in India.
• Scheduled 210 MW CGPP in MS project and tracked balance activity completion end date.
• HFO & Ash disposal system contract finalization, engineering, procurement & erection (mechanical, E&I).
• Overhead structural bridge for pipe network engineering, procurement & construction scope finalization at critical area of Plant.
• Involved in Investigation, finding of faults cause & rectification of equipment using advanced measuring tools & action (Machining of 0.22 MM at the equipment coupling part by Horizontal boring machine).
• Look after P & ID study & check for finalization of power plant instrumentation. Handle KKS coding for plant equipments, piping & instruments study, check & incorporating required changes.
• Turbine governing system installation with DEH, TSI, TSE, ATT & ATRS installation.
• Handling instruments calibration, accessing clients drawing (P&ID, Instruments datasheet, IO database, loop & logic diagram, instrument hook up drawings) with through understanding.
• Logic solving in control panels & various interlocking schemes required for automation and analysing all drawings related to automation & control system.
• Directing site execution activities involving erection & commissioning of DCS & Field Instruments. Ensuring site operations are carried out smoothly with commissioning & procurement operations.
• Foxboro DCS hardware & software installation with Logic, interlock check & modification.
• Handle Boiler & DEH system of Turbine instruments & panels installation with operation study. Also interfacing Siemens S7300 PLC (HCSD pump) & slurry control unit PLC (slaves) with Allen Bradley PLC (Master).
• Looked after the Hydraulic, flushing & greasing oil for the Ash disposal HCSD pumps procurement as per required specification to operate from ‘Shell’. Also handle HT motor 4x500KW retrofitting with the piston pump coordinating, finalization & procurement.
• Conducting hazop study & put through the recommendations as out comings of the whole process (P & ID node wise check, construction phase check & operation & maintenance hazards check).
