To Whom It May Concern,
I am very interested in your position of Unigraphics Designer.
I think it would be a very worthwhile job for me, as it would allow me to work in a field that I find challenging, creative and worthwhile. I am very experienced with sketcher, modeling, free-form surfaces, and the Sheet Metal Design application as well as drafting detailing and assemblies. I am familiar with the Electrical Routing package in Autodesk Inventor 2011...I have a downloaded edition on my laptop.
I have always been interested in design. I obtained a degree in art from Wayne State University in 1969. I began my career at Autodynamics in Madison Heights; there I worked as a technical illustrator on assembly documents.
I was hired at the Tech Center in Warren in December of '83 as an employee of GM Photographics. I worked on standard parts documents (SPO) doing exploded views.
In 1999 I got the opportunity to work with Unigraphics. I was trained by GM at their Knowledge Center in Warren. I began work at Chassis Design for Mid-Lux. I found the work very fulfilling and rewarding. I liked 3D modeling, I was very accomplished at using NX3 Sketcher, Solid Modeling and Assemblies and using Teamcenter. I enjoyed my career at General Motors;
I was doing a job I enjoyed and using my talents and abilities.
In 2007, I retired from GM; so that part of my work life came to an end....I still had an interest in CAD, CAM and CAE .
I have Autodesk Alias Automotive loaded into my laptop to practice Class A surfacing....using degree 7 Studio curves and G3 continuity as well as the model analysis package (volume,stress factors etc.).
I've also kept abreast of what's new with NX7.5 with synchronous modeling and using a lattice rig with Xform. I have NX7.5 loaded into my laptop . I bought a Student Edition for one year. I am very advanced at using NX7.5. I use the software 4 hours a day to completely understand the program.
I hope you will consider me for this position.
sincerely,
Gerald Farrelly
