Senior Systems Engineer – Speakers

Responsible for developing and implementing automotive speaker systems from concept through production. Worked with customers to develop product requirements and suppliers to meet them.

* Developed Common Process for speaker development. Reduced required documentation and process steps by 50% from previously required process. Maintained TS, QS, and ISO compliance with modified process.

* Developed and launched more than 20 automotive speaker systems. Many were premium Monsoon branded audio systems.

* Developed 4 new speaker suppliers to Automotive OEM business.

* Resourced more than 50 speakers from a bankrupt supplier to 4 new suppliers simultaneously. Repeated this process when subsequently 2 of those suppliers also went out of business.

* Developed and refined automotive speaker validation specifications to reduce time and cost by as much as 25% while improving or maintaining quality.

* Flawless Launch of new speaker programs for GM, Ford, Toyota, Hyundai, KIA, and VW.

Lead Systems Engineer – Rear Seat Entertainment

Led development and implementation team for GM Global A Video Screen Module (VSM) used on multiple vehicles and platforms.

* Worked with GM lead engineer to integrate VSM into 6 common vehicle applications.

* Completed Six-Sigma Green Belt Project to document performance of infrared headphone performance using a single transmitter as compared to a two transmitter configuration.

* Used DOORS requirements management tool to document and manage program requirements.

* Coordinated with electrical, mechanical, and validation engineers to document all customer requirements were met and implemented prior to production.

* Presented effective problem resolutions to customer engineering, program and executive teams.

Systems Engineer – Navigation Radio

Support product development for GM Black-Tie and SuperNav Navigation Radio programs

* Developed and implemented vehicle and bench level test plans.

* Worked with team members and suppliers to root cause and solve validation and production issues.

* Tested radios to document, duplicate, and eliminate software issues.

* Designed and assembled radio test bench to power mode cycle up to 10 radios.

Develop and integrate products for Advanced Development projects

* Led mechanical integration for Seattle Wide Information for Travelers (SWIFT). Integrated Text-to-Speech and Radio Sub-Carrier capabilities into Single DIN Navigation unit. Researched and developed mounting provisions for system installation into various vehicles.

* Troubleshot and fixed backlighting problems with various radios and air controls.

* Researched light pipe and LCD backlighting design practices within Delco and worldwide. Organized the practices into a document that was released into the Delco Mechanical Best Practices.
