Summary.
iSeries and AS/400 Systems Support
Upgraded software and hardware for multiple different clients, including replacing old AS/400 systems with iSeries, i5 and Power6 systems, performing hardware repairs and upgrades, and converting data. OS Upgrades through V6R1. Wrote custom programs in CL, ILE RPG, ILE C or Java as appropriate for the task. Installed and configured Tomcat Web Application Servers on Mac OSX and iSeries systems. Installed and configured various browser based accesses to iSeries applications, including NET.DATA applications, iSeries Access for the Web, ZendCORE, and Webfacing. Installed hardware and High Availability software for disaster recovery and operational business continuity for customers. Resolved startup and interface problems with MESA and other applications.

Wrote installation, removal and exit programs to trap and record SQL statements, encrypting and forward the resulting information using socket program to remote collection and analysis processor using TCP/IP sockets.

Coordinated developments of Apple’s Desktop Services group with other Macintosh "Gurus" who wanted to either support Macintosh environment or their real jobs. Defined requirements to third party developers for Macintosh to S/3x connectivity tools. Tested new products, and integrated products into Apple's environment. Supported Apple Networking and Communications during development of MacAPPC, later marketed as SNAps. Coordinated and developed the AS/400 portion of Apple's disaster recovery plan. Recovered systems during hot site tests and system outages. Developed Point-to-Point and X.25 network configurations for AS/400 connections to MVS. Implemented TCP/IP network between Apple's VAX systems and AS/400s. Coordinated selection and assignment of IP addresses for Apple's network with other systems programming groups. Developed an APPC based file transfer system that reduced file transfer times from 2 hours to 20 minutes. Developed and maintained a Report Distribution System using Synon/2E to route reports to the printers closest to customers, even on other systems.
