SNC-Lavalin Group, Toronto, Canada Dec 2008-Present Project Manager (Bruce-A Nuclear Plant Restart)

The Bruce Nuclear facility is the largest CANDU nuclear facility in North America in terms of output with a total capacity of 6,224 MW (net) and 6,610 MW (gross). Bruce-A Restart, is a nuclear power plant refurbishment project at an estimated cost of $4.25 billion

• Developed various layouts such as substation, grounding, general plant, cable, cable tray, lighting and control panels and electrical equipment. Prepared single line diagrams for power distribution system. Designed improvements for medium and low voltage electrical distribution systems and product applications.

• Designed industrial and commercial electric power systems in the areas of protective coordination, short circuit analysis, time-current coordination, motor start-up, harmonics reduction, grounding analysis and load flow.

• Performed duties including commissioning, maintenance and repairs on indoor and outdoor substations, GIS switchgear and breakers, distribution transformers protection and control systems, motor control centres and power cables. Tested and analyzed electrical, control and instrumentation systems.

• Responsible for timely completion of Engineering Quotes, Tender Evaluations, Purchase Orders, and QA-evaluations before procurement of qualified Nuclear Grade equipment from local and international vendors.

• Drafted detail project-plan, estimated man-hours for engineering activities, and coordinated multidisciplinary project scopes. Captured any change in scope and schedule through change orders and delegated sub-contractors to expedite procurement and construction activities.

Project Engineer (Ontario Power Generation - Nuclear Projects)

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is responsible for approximately 70% of electricity generation in the Province Ontario, Canada. OPG is Canada's largest owner of CANDU nuclear power plants with responsibility for operating Pickering and Darlington nuclear generating stations.

• Prepared Modification Outlines that follow strict OPG Engineering Change Control process governing scope of each modification and related operating experience. Worked with designated Modification Team Leader (MTL) to prepare Design Plans that met Nuclear Safety Regulations (NSRs) and existing Systems’ Design Manuals.

• Conducted field investigations at OPG’s Darlington and Pickering power plants to gather relevant information from stakeholders to discuss operating experience and collaborate with senior design engineers to propose technical solutions for conceptual, preliminary and detail design.

• Project Portfolio: Darlington Used Fuel Dry Storage, Powerhouse Emergency Venting System, Modification of Heavy Water tanks, Environment Qualification of Nuclear Class equipment, and modifications to Main Security Building.

• Assisted in developing capital cost and service estimates for the proposal of Advanced CANDU Reactor-1000 and its high voltage electrical distribution systems.

Field Engineer (Oil and Gas Exploration)

Schlumberger is world’s largest oilfield service company operating in 80 countries with workforce of 140 nationalities. The world renowned organization provides evaluation of both onshore and offshore oil and natural gas reservoirs.

• Effectively managed turnkey oil and gas exploration projects ranging from $50K-$1 million from inception to completion. Contributed in an increased year-over-year revenue of 20% by performing field operations effectively and safely, ensuring adherence to company’s budget, revenue and quality standards.

Electrical Designer (Oil-sands mine engineering)

Syncrude is the world's largest producer of synthetic crude from oil sands and the largest single source producer in Canada. It currently has a capacity of 350,000 barrels per day of oil, equivalent to about 13% of Canada's consumption.

• Reviewed multidisciplinary drawings and P&IDs for facility planning projects, including power, lighting, fire alarm, MCC panels, security and telecommunications systems.

• Responsible for on-site work by staff and vendors for all construction, administration, installation and electrical engineering consultation. Consulted with suppliers to research and procure qualified equipment for electrical and instrumentation systems
