Client : Henry Schein, Inc., Melville NY

Description

Overview – Henry Schein, Inc. is the largest distributor of healthcare products to office-based practitioners in the combined North American and European markets. Customers include dental practices and laboratories, physician practices, and veterinary clinics, as well as government and other institutions.

• Deliverables – Technical specifications based on the functional design documents, development of customized JD Edwards World applications – both interactive and batch, interfaces for data migration.

• Modified the standard JD Edwards World programs to meet the client’s requirements.

Daily maintenance includes looks after any show stopper logs in production cycle. This involves direct coordination with end-user, understanding their issue’s & provide fast solution. This mainly involves work around SOP & Item system. It also includes new development, bug fixing & customization. Client has non-JDE systems, which are linked to JDE. Track & monitor any issue in data flow across the different systems. Currently system has many interfaces by which data flows to-fro into outside JDE. Documentation was maintained for every change done.

Project work includes working on the IT request’s, which typically have wider impact on business. To name some of them are as below which is am working with,

1. Freight Adjustments

The scope of this project is:

• Provide a facility to maintain Freight Adjustment on the basis of or a combination of Item/ Supplier/ Product Class/ Line Type

• Add a process to be submitted every night to update Freight Adjustments. Facility to run this process in Proof mode should also be made available. When this process is run in proof mode, Freight Adjustments is not updated. Instead, a report is generated that will contain the current and next Freight Adjustment.

• Incorporate Freight Adjustment calculation logic when a new item is being created or when Supplier/ Line Type/ Product Class changes. The processes affected will be:

o Item Master Maintenance

o Item Mass Upload

o Product Initiation

The project is completed & LIVE.

2. A & E Partition merger

Currently JDE Item Master & Sales are present on two different partitions on one AS/400. All the modules are linked together with the help of DDM files, SQL packages etc. For simplicity & maintenance ease work is going to merge two partitions hence in turn run JDE applications from one partition. This project is major part of the architecture enhancement. This will have a very big impact as many systems talks with these 2 modules currently. Currently involved in study of all the programs / cross system interfaces. To make the rollover smooth the entire project has been divided in small phases which will make sure daily activity is not impacted.

3. Cleanup of system

Client is planning of a possible upgrade to A91. To achieve the same cleanup is required for current system. Involve in development of utilities to identify unused objects across different system. The utility will be used by each application owner to track their own programs. By this way we can remove many orphan objects from the system.

4. A91 Upgrade

Currently involve in development & planning activities for A9.1 upgrade. Development involves cross-reference tool to identify difference across A73 & A91. Developing utilities for system cleanup, to enhance existing application life.

To accommodate request like above JDE - WORLD programs were modified, new tables & programs were written. Tracking reports were designed for customer service to monitor the activities. Up-to-date documentation was created for every step.

Being onsite lead handling the offshore developer team which includes design technical spec’s for development to hand over to offshore. Make an understanding document for offshore. Arrange unit testing with user.

JD Edwards World Implementation & Support

Client : Invitrogen Life Technologies, Carlsbad CA

Description

• Overview – Company provide products and services that support academic and

government research institutions and pharmaceutical and biotech companies worldwide

in their efforts to improve the human condition. Life science technologies improve and

accelerate all areas of research, drug discovery, and commercial bio production.

• Deliverables – Technical specifications based on the functional design documents, development of customized JD Edwards World applications – both interactive and batch, interfaces for data migration.

• User documentation, quality assurance. Interacted with the user group and management, to analyze the business process, linking the business process, system and people.

• Modified the standard JD Edwards World programs to meet the client’s requirements.

• Worked in close co-ordination with functional team in preparing data mapping documents involving mapping several JDE World Tables to JD Edwards Tables and defining the logic behind the mapped data elements in several modules viz., sales & distribution.

• Responsible for the Support/Enhancements to both ROI Credit Card Application Servers. Day-to-Day Support for production Issues.

Development of “American Express Level III”- Some of the customer wants there CC statement switched to display level III data. To accommodate this change JDE world programs are being modified to send the data. This project also consists of couple of outside parties. This project is now in data-testing phase as data travels across diff systems before reaching to AMEX.

I-Rewards -The marketing department decided to offer the customer the ability to redeem I-Rewards points for free product offers. As part of the I-Rewards marketing Strategy,Currently, when a customer places an order on-line they accrue points which can be redeem for promotional products only. The product offers will be different depending on how many points the customer would like to redeem.

OligoExpress – INV with one of their products called Oligo Express PCR kits provide everything need for successful PCR - a premium enzyme, quality dNTPs, and a free WebExpress™ Card for Oligos worth $100 toward the purchase of custom primers.

To accommodate request like above JDE - WORLD programs were modifed , new tables & programs were written.These project(s) also includes WEB interface where in JDE & WEB were interlinked by the use of stored procedure.Interface’s were written to manage the data flow acorss two systems. Tracking reports were designed for customer service to monitor the activities. Up-to-date documentation was created for every step.

Merger – Company is involved into number of acquisition, as a result of this acquisition the customer service professionals at Invitrogen Corporation can now be processing orders for acquired company’s products as well.

Once it is done on business level the IT team prepares procedure for data upload, mapping the foreign entries into home JDE. Part of team to design interfaces, cross-reference tables, screens. The data was uploaded taking into the consideration of JDE security & rules. Different customized programs were created to achieve the smooth & correct data transfer. Use of Z- files was done wherever possible. The merger data includes IM, IB, Lot-location, quantity etc.

Also working & helping offshore technical team for issue resolution & knowledge transfer.

Client : Bureau Veritas, France.

Description

• Overview – Bureau Veritas is a service company specializing in QHSE management (quality, health, safety and environment) and social accountability, with a network that covers 140 countries and includes 600 offices and laboratories. Objective of this project is to develop new and enhance existing modules of JD Edwards World applications in the areas of Finance and Distribution.

Involved in Offshore Development Assistance for Bureau Veritas – Corporate business Solutions providing assistance to help them enhancing a bespoke information management system. Create a new module a task assignment module for the inspection business. The purpose is to take from SOP contracts the supposed services to be done and to associate the suitable employee to each task or type of task. Then, the employee should be able to assign the real time spent per day to each type of task through a new Times & Expenses screen. This will allow a better monitoring of employee’s efficiency & increase the visibility regarding the correct completion of the different tasks. The project includes the Modification of standard JD Edwards World programs to meet the client’s requirements. Customized routines were written to update JD Edwards World files ensuring that the technical quality, JD Edwards World standardization and data integrity were maintained. • This was an implementation, support and maintenance project.

• Responsible for tailoring the application according to end user requirement. Also developed an interface between AS/400 & Swipe-Card system to record attendance data. Developed different HR related reports as well modules like PF, Income tax, Increment letters, ESIC, Salary Register, Appraisal, Promotion, Recruitment planning etc.

This system is for uploading data from PC based software to BPCS database files. The PC Based excel spread sheet contains forecast of 120 products from 45 locations all over the Country for 6 months. This system is a part of Supply chain module in BPCS.

VENDOR TRANSACTION SYSTEM

This system is developed as an enhancement to accounts payable module in BPCS. This system is designed to display & print the transactions of a particular vendor for a period containing Listing of advances & adjustments. Includes summary & detail level functions for query with PO filters for PO or for a party. Made wild card facility for Ledger listing.

Main achievements are:

• Designed, developed & implemented the whole system.
