Successfully handled and owned the PTC Windchill® product .Delivering the result under pressure and in a short span of time with Agile approach. This includes development of new features and further enhancements according to client request or in house requirements. It also includes proactive approach to complex problems.

Windchill Gateway Controller (Data Utilities)

For I-deas TDM and Cocreate Model Manager

• Incorporating I-deas TDM and Cocreate data within Windchill allows you to capture and control your design information within a single enterprise environment, manage the data under a single product structure, and easily leverage that information across the extended organization in a controlled manner.

• This Project provides a framework to facilitate export and Import of Data across Windchill server and client data storage.

Some of main works undertaken by me are as follows:

• Added support for a new customers Cocreate in current architecture.

This involved adding new classes, modifying existing one to support them and making corresponding changes in the User Interface. It also involved writing JUnit and Integrating Test cases for the same.

• WHC Help Context Support

This involved working on the context sensitive help keys across all the pages in the UI

for the framework. It also involved closed interaction with documentation team to generate WHC in time and with right keys.

Core Java, JCA and J2EE, clearcase, version one, JUnit were primarily used to complete these projects.

Product Developer

My primary responsibilities include analysis, design, development and debugging of products in BMC® Configuration Management solutions (formerly Marimba®). The job requires developing and cross checking the same across multiple platforms.

BMC® Configuration Management solutions mainly consists of BMC patch Management, BMC Deployment Manager, BMC asset management, Schema Management, Device Management, BMC OS Provisioning, BMC Adapters and BMC BDDM.

Projects:

Core Infrastructure Management

• This project handles the core functionality of the BMC product. Tuner/Transmitter is an integral part of this core functionality. Tuner is an agent which has to be running on PC, laptops, mobiles and other required H/w devices which requires working on BMC® Configuration Management solutions. Transmitter acts as a central repository which stores files according to its own file system.

• Core member of Tuner/Transmitter team and my responsibility requires deep understanding of the product since this is the base on top of which all other products function.

• Project requires working on client escalations and RFE (Request for Enhancements). It also involves working on ant build and GNU make file.

• Technology used: Core Java, Multi Threading, Java Swing

Version control system: Perforce

BMC OS provisioning

• This is the BMC solution for provisioning of operating system across large networks. This adds more value with Microsoft Vista coming into market.

• The OS and required patches are packaged and it requires active sharing and downloading it across network.

• Designed and developed changes which helped in downloading and uploading specific segments from the transmitter. The task required doing changes in a short span of time as all other tasks were blocked due to this.

Deployment Manager

• Deployment Manager is a part of BMC product suite which helps you to create, manage and execute tasks across the network based on customizable schedule. Tasks are nothing but set of automated tasks or some scripts which execute set of commands at endpoints in network.

• My role was to work on client requirements and incorporate the desired changes in the product.

• Technology used: Core Java, Multi Threading, Ant, Java Swing, Design Patterns, XML

Longevity Test

• This was the project which required the stress testing of product across various platforms.

• Created jobs and tasks across various platforms mainly Windows Vista, windows NT, Linux, Solaris and Hp-UX. The schedule was set such that to help concurrent execution of tasks in a specified interval. The tasks were monitored for a week time and reports were generated based on the same.

• Based on the report changes were done in the product code which helped in proactively solving some of the known and unknown issues.

DST -2007 Compliance

• In the context of the new rules coming into picture for the year 2007, my tasks involved analyzing the product Deployment Manger for its DST -2007 compliance.

• This was thoroughly tested for all the time zones prevalent in Canadian region on the platforms mainly Hp-UX, Solaris, AIX, Windows, UNIX and Linux. Test cases to check compliance were created and product implementation was modified accordingly to make it DST-2007 compliant.

NGN MGX8850 project

• Added support for new MGX 8850 devices in Network and Service layer.

• Its main purpose was to add Back card support to the dependent modules, mainly SI and NI.

• SI (Service Inventory) is a NOSS application and is used by some other NOSS applications to get detailed information about CC, client service, service request, order, and user account, etc.

• NI (Network Inventory) is a server side application and is used by other applications to get network inventory information, such as region, site, shelf, end user, circuit and service, etc.

• The Test frame work was used to access the performance of the network devices.

• This project dealt with the Repository maintenance using VSS.

Task Management System to Log Daily Activities

• This tool helped people to log activities based on the project, category and user role type. It provided a centralized solution for assigning tasks and to see the status of the same.

My Role: It involved working around the processes involving Software requirements and project planning. Interacting with different teams and client and helping team in achieving the sales target was also part of the responsibility.

Filler Card System

• Digital Video Coloscope is a device whose primarily function is in cancer screening detection.

• Each and every such device needs a digital card to support its functionality. This device has to be integrated with the computer system to provide report of the same.

• Responsibilities and Role: Team Lead. Guided the support team in properly configuring the card. Configuring the card involved making pre defined setting in the card according to the system environment. It also involved trouble shooting the system if required.

Inventory Management

• This project involved designing and creating the system for maintain the proper database for keeping the inventory records. Reports were generated based on the records, which further help down in estimating the effort required.

HelpDoc
