• Assisted the Payroll Manager in the update and completion of the medical and dental benefits plans in HRB portal of ADP Workforce Now.

• Performed an audit on the company’s Life, AD&D, LTD and Supplemental insurance benefits and updated the information on the carrier’s website as well as in HRB.

• Worked with the Payroll Manager in the setting up of the additional deduction codes in pay Xpert for the Supplemental AD&D benefits.

• Trained the Payroll Manager on how to use the Benefits module in the HRB portal as well as how to run basic HR and Time and Attendance reports.

The Actors’ Fund of America, New York, NY 1998 - 2012

Human Resources Manager

• Participated in the establishment of the Human Resources Department in The Actors Fund Nursing Home and Assisted Living facility as well as trained 7 Human Resources Managers for this facility.

• Recruited for the HR Managers in New Jersey as well as the HR Assistant in NY.

• Administered the Benefits Plans: Medical, Dental, Life, AD&D, LTD, STD, FSA, FMLA and Workers Compensation for NY and California. This included processing of enrollments, change and termination forms, processing of all invoices, responding to staff questions concerning claims issues and the managing COBRA. Worked with The Fund’s third party brokers in resolving claims issues and had good success in claims resolutions.

• Conducted new hire orientations and exit interviews for the NY, CA and NJ locations.

• Participated in the 1199 Union negotiations for the Actors Fund Nursing Home until 2010 and was responsible for the processing of union dues, initiation fees, and welfare benefits.

• Responsible for the design, set-up and maintenance for both the HRB and Time and Attendance system under ADP Workforce Now. Verified that all information was entered accurately in the database and generated regular and special reports regarding employee personal information, skills set, pay data, performance appraisals, benefits and annual census information.

• Trained over 100 employees in how to use the Time and Attendance module that was available to employees as well as created the HR data profile that would be rolled out to staff in the near future.

• Assisted the Director of Human Resources with the entrance of new employees, checking timesheets as well as did follow up with the Payroll Department to ensure that all data flowed properly between systems. Inputted annual increases for the entire organization and prepared departmental increase notification reports for all managers.

• Recommended changes in methods and procedures to increase efficiency between HR and the Payroll Department when dealing with Union deductions, 401k loan repayments, garnishments, child supports and longevity bonuses.

• Worked with the Director of Human Resources to set up and maintain the current 58 retiree pension files as well as the 87 terminated vested participant files that are associated with the Fund’s Defined Pension Plan.

• Worked with the Fund’s Third Party Administrators (Actuary and Asset Management Bank) for the Fund’s Defined Benefit Plan in the preparation of benefit request forms, annual censuses for 5500 filings and yearly company audits, notification to participants of their life annuity payments, retiree payments and personnel change notifications.

• Worked with the Fund’s Third Party Administrator and Financial Advisor for the 401k. Responsibility included processing enrollments, loans, withdrawals and rollovers; advising employees on how to use their 401k, census preparation for the 5500 filings and company audits.

• Conducted background checks for The Actors Fund Home and the California locations

• Supervised one full time HR Assistant and one HR Intern.
