Dear Recruiter:
Four years in college and 2 years experience…what have I learned? Plenty! Plenty that I can apply directly to the Engineering positions you have advertised on your company website.
The drive and focus to achieve: Your company success depends upon the ability of your staff to grasp a problem, evaluate the best way to solve it, and then work until the solution is in hand. This is precisely the process I followed through my Co-Op with Toyota Manufacturing, Design Engineer position, and all four years of school to graduate with a 2.70 grade-point average.
Hands On and Knowledge:
Toyota Manufacturing:
• Did work inside and outside the plant.
• Layout a new lighting plan for the whole plant to improve dim areas and cost savings.
• Work with a phone company to get telecommunications working for a new area outside the plant.
• Wrote instructions and safety procedures for new equipment that was being used in the substations.
• Did monthly walk through and maintenance checks on the plants’ transformers.
• Distribute power to various areas in the plant.
Design Engineer:
• Talk to vendors and looked at data sheets for proper usage of parts.
• Made schematics and project diagrams for manufacturing and fellow engineers.
• Designed and built (hands on) test stand and showed operators how to operate and repair it when I am not available.
• Improved existence test stands by implementing a more automated system.
Flexibility and creativity: A business gets stale when it continually recycles the same ideas time and time again. When you hire me, you get someone who thinks for herself, and who is not afraid to suggest new ways to approach a task as I did as the student worker responsible for proposing specific work duties, work schedules, work behaviors, and ethics standards to help better the working environment for now and the future. I am young but have lots of experience with people and getting the job done on time. If called outside normal business hours no problem helping out my company is what I do best.
An interview would grant me the opportunity to demonstrate my abilities. You can reach me at 815-***-**** to schedule an interview.
Thank you in advance for considering me.
Sincerely,
Tabitha N. Willis
