TECHNICAL OVERVIEW:

I have ** years of programming experience with a wide range of systems and responsibilities. My current position I am building a web site using open source tools, data management, business reporting , setting up Debian servers , maintain window servers and work with the AS400/Iseries. I am involved in rebuilding the infrastructure as well as maintaining the old systems. This has been bit out of the normal for me but a very good learning experience.. Before this I spent 5 years in a Microsoft .Net environment. My duties as a Business Intelligence Consultant include Reporting Services and SSIS in SQL Server 2005/2008 environments. In my role as a consultant I am an integral part of the Business Intelligence team that is responsible for assisting the customer in gaining access to data from different sources into one centralized reporting database. I used SSIS to integrate C# with TSQL and ETL proccess to create lights out data movement and well as checks and balances. Along with that data models supported the adhoc reports the client wanted. In some cases we loaded cubes that were attached to Excel reports. I have created technical documentation for the BI software package-BI Express and also tested and made recommendations for the BI team. One of my main responsibilities is technical demonstrations of the software product (BI Express) to potential customers. I support and code stored procedures in DB2 on an ISeries along with writing programs in CL and RPG. Past projects have included MAPICS, COGNOS and Pervasive SQL systems. My responsibilities included an e_commerce web site. We used VB. Net, C#, ADO. Net, ASP. Net, HTML and JAVA script. It was designed as an N-Tier application and code was Object Oriented. The use of classes and interfaces allowed for faster changes and easier coding. The use of classes especially helped when we moved the code from Oracle database to SQL2005. We used the Microsoft Enterprise libraries for logging and error handling. I also maintained 3rd party software and web components. For managing data bases we used Toad for SQL. This included maintaining licenses, budgeting and reviewing new technology. I was responsible for customer support, after hour help desk, sales reporting and maintaining Microsoft servers.
