Responsible for the accuracy of the in process raw materials for the soft gel department. Perform daily cycle counts and do investigation and reconciliation of any differences. Complete reports to monitor the inventory accuracy and develop solutions to correct problems.
• Developed a daily production schedule to more accurately determine when a machine will be going down for a product change over.
• Developed a mid level process flow chart and identified areas of concern.
• Improved the cycle count accuracy from 90.2% to 99.1% in the fourth quarter of 2009.

Worked with IT as a member of the SAP roll out team, traveling to various company locations, reviewing their operation and completing configuration spreadsheets to provide programmers with the necessary information to setup the plant in SAP. After programming is completed conducted integration and regression testing to verify proper operation of the programs. Also responsible for training of all plant leads and to provide support during and after go live and assist with the cut over to the new system. Worked in all areas of SAP but main area of concentration being the warehouse, inventory and shipping modules.
• Presented a new SAP logistics process to 16 facilities (160 employees) so the managers and supervisors would understand the system and be able to make informed decisions about changes that may have to be made within their process.
• Coordinated the integration testing for 7 different sites to insure proper system and material set up and logged any defects while assisting in resolving the problem
• Did regression testing for the Europe and US computer systems before their implementation.
• Trained 40 logistics team members (Train the Trainer) in the various functions of SAP so they were able to train the 500 end users at their various locations.
• Provided on site support for SAP start up operations in Australia and France, resulting in a smooth start up with no surprises.
• Provided help desk support for SAP logistics issues by handling RA’s (Request for assistance) from sites around the world.
Project lead: 11/04 – 11/08
• Led the conversion of the “barrier tray” product line to SAP which involved over 200 employees at two manufacturing / warehouse locations and a customer communication center, resulting in a successful conversion with no disruption in customer service
• Evaluated the operations at 5 distribution centers to develop “best business practices” and developed revised SAP processes that improved the efficiency of all distribution centers.
• Did process scoping and completed scope documentation that was then used for the configuration of 7 distribution locations.
• Developed processes to be able to oversee the operations at a third party manufacturing and warehouse location.

Responsible for all shipping and receiving activities at the Reading plant and the outside warehouse locations. Supervised 27 employees who worked on 3 shifts at 2 different locations. Had to manage a budget of over a million dollars and over half a million dollars of material handling equipment. The 2 warehouse locations provided over 5 acres of storage for finished goods which was the responsibility of the shipping supervisor.
Service Coordination 08/02 -11/04
Along with the shipping supervisor responsibilities was assigned the task to help resolve the supply problems that we were experiencing after converting to SAP. I monitored the inventory, sale demands and production schedule to determine any service issues and work to resolve them in time to meet customer needs. I was also assigned all traffic activities and freight bill approvals for the plant. Also became the back up product scheduler at this time following company reorganization.
• Coordinated the activities of multiple departments to improve our on-time and complete order completion from 96.7% to 99.7% following the implementation of SAP.
• Improved the physical inventory accuracy by 65% by instituting the use of “cycle counting” and detailed checking of the production inventory recording process.
• Following plant reorganization assumed the traffic managers functions. Meet with freight carriers, dealt with freight contacts and approved freight invoices.
• Reduced the Reading and Indianapolis plants’ transportation cost by 15% by negotiating vendor rates, improving coordination of orders, scheduling and defining more efficient routes.
• The back up production scheduler for the Reading plant.
Local Team Member for SAP implementation 01/01 – 7/02
Was responsible to providing necessary information to the SAP team about plant’s shipping and warehouse operations. Responsible for learning the SAP system and then training all end users in the shipping and receiving areas at the Reading, PA plant.
• Lead the on site development, training and implementation of the SAP computer system.
• Created SAP training manuals that were used at four different sites and later became the method of choice used to present the information during end user training.
Shipping Supervisor 10/81 -11/04
• Redesigned an unused bar code system so that it was not only operational but easier to update and user friendly, resulting in an up to date and efficient bar code tracking system.
• Established performance levels for all shipping positions that led to a 10% improvement in production and the ability to better manage staffing needs.
• Directed the set-up and relocation of four different storage warehouses, ranging from 15 – 70k sq. ft. without any disruption of service to production or the customers.
• Oversaw the installation of three different computer systems AS400, Symix, and Legecy.
• Coached the shift supervisor on how to best evaluate staffing needs and to adjust accordingly which resulted in a 10% reduction in labor cost.
• Involved in the set up of a drop trailer program which accounts for over 80% of the freight moved.
• 24 years as a member of Sealed Air’s Industrial Fire Brigade having held positions from First Aid to Shift Chief.
