IT SECURITY (Information Assurance Officer)

The IAO is responsible for validating Weekly (Windows, UNIX, VAX) Audit logs to verify user activity, ensuring program/company security. Conduct yearly user briefings to update users on program security. Prepare or update IT Security Plans as new or existing programs require. Work with Network Administrators to ensure user accounts and access to the IT system, maintaining program security. Break down hard drives for destruction using government approved methods.

• Developed new procedures to use automated audit tools for large computer networks, saving 4 to 6 hours weekly on audits.

• Maintained Configuration Management using the Track-it Tool (maintaining program security database by adding and removing equipment inventory, changes to current inventory location, upgrades/changes to equipment), .

• Assisted on containing and removing classified data spills from unclassified systems, assisted on investigation when asked by the IAM and/or CPSO.

• Assisted in receiving a Commendable Rating during our July 2007 government inspection.

PC/NETWORK TECHNICIAN

The PC/Network Technician will troubleshoot and repair PCs, terminals and printer hardware and software to a company standard and insure connectivity for 1800 employees. Set up, configured, upgraded, and delivered new and re-deployed networked and stand-alone, PCs, terminals and printer hardware and software for multiple operating systems, including Windows NT 4.0, Windows 98, Windows 95, Windows 3.1.x, Sun/Unix and MS-DOS. Interface with the Help Desk Group for the purpose of continuous process improvement and maximization of first-time-contact resolution of client issues through the Help Desk. Retrieved surplus equipment from clients, and facilitate its disposition. Provide technical support to classified areas.

• Supported client-specific applications and compatibility of those applications with installed operating systems.

• Monitored and provided secondary responsibility for server backups. Supplied tape backup using Archserve to classified area.

• Within the first few months reduced a 200+ ticket backlog and maintained level of ticket request. Monitor Remedy and complete all SEV3 Action Requests within 24 hours.

• Shared troubleshooting techniques and probable repair solutions with peers.

• Provided primary and secondary / backup support for the network / servers in classified areas (Using Active Directory to create, disable, grant rights, create groups to user accounts)
