• Extracted organic compounds and alkaloid substances from medicinal plants encountered in the Amazons. Evaluated and characterized the biological activity of the extracted compounds towards the treatment of a number of illnesses including Parkinson’s disease.
• Applied chromatographic and spectrometric techniques and utilized analytical tools like HPLC and FT-IR.
NOTABLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
• Extracted and purified 3 alkaloids from a medicinal plant in the Amazons. Evaluated and characterized the biological activity of the extracted enzymes towards Parkinson’s disease and discovered an activity higher than 12% for one of these extracted enzymes.
• Actively contributed to the improved formulation of a line of polyurethane coatings and optimized their manufacturing process which translated into a 12% cost reduction in labor and equipment, as well as a 50% reduction in Takt time in manufacturing.
• Established an environmental action plan and reduced by 40% the amount of solvents generated by recycling processing companies.
• Assisted in the establishment of a marketing line dedicated to the service of laboratory equipment, thus significantly increasing company revenues.
• Developed and implemented a quality control system that met ISO 17025 requirements in terms of temperature, viscosity and mass in a calibration laboratory.
