Architected and brought to market Key2SafeDriving™, a technology that prevents driving distractions caused by mobile phones. This product included mobile phone software, specialized vehicle hardware and a web application for configuration and management. Implemented a sprint-based development strategy using open sourced systems to enable rapid deployment of features. Spoke at industry events and supported Department of Transportation initiatives to reduce vehicle accidents and deaths cause by mobile phone use.
* Defined, developed and deployed complex system that marries specialized hardware, mobile phone software and cloud-based web service. Supported mobile phone platforms include iPhone (in process), Android, BlackBerry, Symbian, and Windows Mobile.
* Developed custom vehicle On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) hardware to read engine control unit (ECU) data and communicate with mobile phones via Bluetooth. Architected this hardware to allow over the air firmware updating, allowing us to add features without the customer needing to return or replace the hardware.
* Managed domestic, near-shore, and off-shore development teams to create first go to market release of the product.
