PROJECT WORK:

Title: “E-tutor(Personal teacher evaluation system).”

Abstract: The etutor is a comprehensive language learning environment for German that is supported across multiple platforms and browsers. Users can practice their language skills, e.g., vocabulary, listening/reading comprehension and grammar at all levels of German, from beginner to advanced. Moreover, the system contains cultural information in form of pictures, exercises and texts about Germany and its people. The etutor also keeps a history of learner performance which can be viewed and sent directly to the instructor. Students can check their learning progress in much detail and compare it to other learners who previously have used the system.

The etutor also provides error-specific and individualized feedback by performing a linguistic analysis of student input and adjusting feedback messages suited to learner expertise. Many studies have shown that students learn better with feedback that explains the particular error they are making and that considers their knowledge of the language. The etutor also provides individualized, context-sensitive help on the errors students are making. In addition to being a rich learning tool for learners of German, the system also serves as a research tool for large-scale user studies on various aspects of Second Language Acquisition (click here for a list of related publications).
