Various functions which include System software upgrade , EPG,Interactive applications like
PPV,VOD. Various DVR functionalities. And IPTV.
The work involves leading the team to validate the set top boxes .
Reviews of FRS and CRS.
Writing test cases.
Execution of test cases.
Field testing.
Stream Modifications using MPEG multiplexer.
Duration: Oct 2005 – Nov 2009
Role: Test lead.
Managing the team for Institutional Set Top boxes.
Preparing test estimations ,test plan.
Test case development, execution and review of test cases.
Bug reporting and issue tracking.
Making test reports, Giving feed back to the customer.
2. GSM BSS System Testing and maintenance:
The Project involves installing OMC-R (Operation and maintenance Center –Radio)
The actual interface provided in the field to the end customer and then booting, configuring
and reconfiguring BSS by the X25 link of the OMC-R.
The work involves the testing features, some of them are
Dual Band
Concentric cell
Frequency hopping
LAC reconfiguration
SOIR BSC, BTS reparenting.
RIW test cases written to cover different releases of different subsystems.
The project involves identifying the test scenarios, writing test scripts and executing the test cases to cover new features.
Following testing is done:
Non-Regression testing (executing existing test cases)
New Feature Testing ( Identifying new test case scenarios and writing test scripts for them)
CR/Bug fix testing (Testing the patch to verify bug fixes, This might involve adding test cases or executing existing test cases)
Duration : Oct 2003 - Oct 2005.
Role and Responsibility : Campaign Lead
Test case development, execution and review of test cases.
Bug reporting and issue tracking
3. UE Conformance Testing and IOT Testing:
Description of the project:
The project involved writing and testing of 3gpp conformance test suits for the UE protocol stack. Involved in writing test scripts for mobility management (MM), session management (SM) GPRS mobility management (GMM). Test cases are defined to exercise:
Sequences of layer3 messages and expected responses.
2. L3 to L2 Service primitives to trigger specific L2 procedures, or to configure L2 operations.
3. Layer3 to L1 Service primitives to configure layer1 operations.
UTRAN simulators Anite and Anrtitsu are used. API’s are used to define different protocol messages. Involved in inter operability testing and supported field trails.
Duration : Mar 2001 - Sep 2003
Software : C++ and TTCN
Testing Tools : Anite and Anritsu test equipments.
Role and Responsibility :
Test case development, execution and review of conformance test cases and IOT test cases.
Bug reporting and issue tracking
4. WAVE:
Description of the project:
The Wireless Automation And Verification Environment (WAVE) is GSM’s Network Switching System (NSS) Test and Verification platform. It provides an automated means of verifying the increasingly complex GSM NSS product. Users of WAVE, can write and test fairly complex call scenarios encountered in a GSM network, against NORTEL’s GSM Switching product. WAVE is made up of two different hardware configurations: GSM AUTOMATION PLATFORM (GAP) and TRAFFIC AND TEST SIMULATOR (TATS) On GAP, the Object High-level Methods System (OHMS) is the interface between a user designing automated test cases, and the TTF/GAP libraries and hardware which communicate with the System Under Test (SUT) during the execution of a test case. OHMS test cases use C++ objects to allow the user a consistent, easy-to-use interface that does not vary significantly from protocol to protocol. With the Wireless Automation Verification Environment Test System, it is possible for many different applications to operate and inter work at the desktop. These enable users to simultaneously exercise multiple aspects of a SUT via both interactive and automated tests. Some of the features of the NSS that are verified include Calling and called number delivery, call forwarding, real time estimate of billing, call related and call independent supplementary services.
