Experience Vicor Corporation Andover, MA
Production Engineering Associate January 2011 – June 2011
• Designed, prototyped, produced, and implemented fixtures and pallets to increase efficiency on selective solder machines.
• Discovered the root cause of product failures when applying heat sinks and developed a solution to avoid future failures.
• Conducted weekly presentations to inform management of failures on the assembly line and alternative methods to correct them.
Production Engineering Co-op July 2010 – December 2010
• Performed GR&R testing on new machines entering the assembly line and presented the results to the management team.
• Designed and fabricated fixtures to easily locate and apply barcodes on products.
• Worked closely with the machine shop to produce products that are easy to manufacture while being able to withstand the daily use the product will endure.
Advanced Vacuum Systems Ayer, MA
Design Engineering Co-op January 2010 – May 2010
• Utilized SolidWorks to design vacuum and pressure systems for industrial applications.
• Designed and produced drawings of a hot zone and jail for a 22 ton vacuum hot press.
• Personally improved efficiency and overall productivity by creating files linking the inventory management system to SolidWorks.
• Aided the design team in problem-solving and brainstorming designs to enhance existing products and develop ideas for new systems.
Design Projects Senior Design: Designed and created an ethylene glycol cooled brake caliper for a 1995 Dodge Stealth. Used a DAQ unit to monitor the temperature effects.
Triggers: Produced Delrin triggers to the specifications of customers to custom fit their hand and the trigger frame of their paintball marker.
Woodwork: Independently constructed a regulation-size pool table, several Adirondack chairs, and other pieces of furniture.
