Designed high efficiency step-down regulator which is able to work both at PWM and PSM (Power Saving Modulation) to obtain best efficiency for a wide range of load conditions. It is able to deliver 0.75V - 3.7 V/400mA for output from a single battery voltage.
05/2008 - 12/2008: “PWM and PFM Boost WLEDs Driver (Maximum 10 LEDs)”
Designed PWM&PFM boost white LEDs driver with 0.25um BCD 40V technology. It powers two strings 10 LEDs each at 20mA. 32V output is boosted from 3.6V battery voltage. Averaged efficiency is over 80% when led current ranges from 3mA to 50mA. It is integrated with a class-D amplifier together on one chip.

Designed low noise PWM step-down regulator. It powers logic and transmitters in small wireless systems such as cellular phones, communicating pads, and handy-terminals. It can deliver over 600mA. The output voltage can be adjusted from 1.25V to VIN with the input range of +2.7V to +5.5V.
06/2005-07/2006: “A Multiple-Output Power-Supply Controller for LCD Monitor”
Designed a Multiple-Output Power-Supply Controller for LCD Monitor with 0.6um BCD 40V (Bipolar/CMOS/DMOS) technology. It includes a high-efficiency (2MHz) & fixed-frequency step-down regulator, three linear regulator controllers and a programmable startup sequence. Its applications are for LCD Monitors and TVs, Automotive LCDs.
06/2004 -05/2005: “1×/1.5× Charge Pump for LEDs driver”
Designed and fabricated 1×/1.5× Charge Pump for LEDs driver with 0.6um BCD technology. By utilizing proprietary adaptive 1×/1.5× modes and ultra-low-dropout current regulators, it maintains 92% high efficiency over the full 1-cell Li+ battery input voltage range and drives up to four white LEDs with regulated constant current for uniform intensity.

Dynamic Voltage Scaling controller with integration of inductor Fall 2008 - present
Designed 100MHz dynamic voltage scaling controller by MOSIS 0.5um CMOS technology. Controller steps down a 5V battery to 1.8-1.2V/500mA (5MHz) dynamic voltage by utilizing one-cycle control and voltage control mode with type 3 compensation. Application is dynamic voltage supply of power amplifier.
Energy harvesting and power management system for wireless sensor network. Fall 2007 - Fall 2008
Implemented a energy harvester from piezoelectric generator to power wireless sensor network. AC power which is generated from piezoelectric device is converted to DC output (2.5V/100mA) by a full-wave bridge rectifier with one buck regulator. Power is generated to charge super-capacitor.
