WORK EXPERIENCE:

January 1999 to Present:

PEDIATRIC NURSE PRACTITIONER. East Haven Pediatrics, East Haven,CT. Position involves work as a full time PNP with presciptive authority in a large private pediatric practice that services a wide range of patients from the newborn period to the adolescent/early adult years. Specific interest in psychiatry and crisis intervention. A collaborative physician provides medical consultation when necessary.

Setember 1999 to Present:

CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR/PRECEPTOR. Yale School of Nursing, New Haven,CT. Responsible for the precepting and teaching of APRN students in the pediatric private community setting.

September 1991 to 1998:

EDUCATOR/PRECEPTOR/STAFF. Pediatric Emergency Department : The Children's Hospital at Yale New Haven Hospital, New Haven, CT. Position involves work as a full-time staff member coordinating emergency care activities within a 15 bed unit. Involved ongoing pediatric physical assesssment instruction for staff members with emphasis on special patient care techniques. Position involved directing several months of orientation for newly hired registered, graduate and student nurses, as well as paramedics and emergency medical technicians. Also involved working as a full-time staff member with frequent charge nurse responsibilities within a 28 bed unit; member of code blue team; monthly educational inservices for staff and other inter/intrahospital professionals; and participation in multiple unit research projects.
