ConTel Solutions – 2005 to Present

ConTel is my own Electrical Contracting company founded in 2005, we provide installation and service to small business and residential customers in Southwest Florida.

Several of our significant projects include:

US Dept. of Homeland Security – Immigration Service – Installation of Voice and Data Network for Ft. Myers office, over 150 CAT6 runs.

US National Park Service – Managed relocation of voice and data network during office rebuild.

Allegra Printing Naples – Managed relocation of voice and data network during office rebuild.

Dollar Tree Stores – Installation of phone cabling for 8 Dollar Tree stores throughout South Florida.

In addition to our installation projects, I provided technology consulting services to Entergy Corp. - Supply Chain during procurement of Utility real-time operations (SCADA/EMS) systems in 2006.

2002-2003: IT Consultant – Technexxus

Provided technology consulting services to several Fortune 500 clients including Gillette and Exelon. Developed contract Statement-of-Work documents and participated in negotiations regarding service levels and technical requirements. Participated in 2003 AMR feasibility study for ComEd, developing RFP Technology requirements and performing vendor response evaluations.

Electronic Data Systems – 1984-2002

Provided IT and telecom consulting services to numerous EDS business units in sales support and implementation roles. A few of the many successful projects were:

Dow Chemical Company – Led technical design team for DowNet, the 1999-2002 project to converge Dow’s voice, data and video networks via MPLS technology. Worked with Cisco Systems to test new VoIP and convergence technology that had never been deployed in the field. This design proposal led to a $1.5B long-term contract between EDS and Dow. Matrix management of over 50 engineering and operations team members.

State of Tennessee – Led design team for TNII network, linking all state universities and many government agencies via a state-wide ATM backbone. Working with BellSouth, this led to a long-term agreement between the State and EDS in 1999. Matrix management of 10 engineering and operations team members.

State of Georgia – Led proposal design team responsible for Georgia Dept. of Education backbone to the internet, enabling all schools to communicate for the first time. This led to long-term agreement between the State and EDS in 1998. Matrix management of 6 engineering and operations team members.

Project management, design and implementation for many clients including:

Continental Airlines/SystemOne – Datacenter consolidation and migrations.

National Car Rental – Designed and implemented numerous technology projects including curbside check-in and linking NCR and EuropCar reservations systems.

EDS Credit Union Processing – Datacenter consolidation of over 25 sites to two.

Banco Santander – Datacenter consolidations from Puerto Rico to U.S.

Washington Mutual – Designed and implemented large item processing center.

Sahavirya Telecom – Implemented satellite earth station for VSAT service provider in Bangkok.

Managed Applications development projects for:

IBM CAD network management system for EDS' mainframe CAD infrastructure.

Deployed Barclay Loan platform application for First City Texas branch network.

Mainframe/Network Operations experience

EDS - Houston IT Center - Led team of systems engineers supporting EDS Houston customers, First City Bank, SystemOne and Enron. Migrated mainframe processing to Dallas IT Center. Set up lab to resolve long-term branch connectivity problems for First City Bank.

EDS - Auburn Hills, MI - Led team of 17 operations technicians supporting 26 MVS and VM mainframes.

EDS – Auburn Hills and Warren, MI - Led team of 12 professionals supporting 3000 mainframe CAD devices for GM and third party engineering companies. Set up performance and technical evaluation lab.

EDS - Detroit, MI - Led team of 7 technicians supporting GM headquarters telecom infrastructure.
