Responsible for assisting the enforcement of the HPA by documenting non-compliant items with the use of digital cameras and video equipment at horse shows, exhibitions, and auctions. Responsible for collecting, labeling, securing and shipping foreign substance samples to National Veterinary Services Laboratory (NVSL) obtained at horse shows and auctions. The ACI is required to scan all horse class sheets and complete APHIS Form 7077 at shows in which Investigative and Enforcement Services (IES) is not present.

Was a PhD student in Biodefense at George Mason University, I am the recipient of the National Coalition Building Institute’s (NCBI) “Train-the-Trainer Diversity Leadership Institute” scholarship at George Mason University. It provides for an intensive small group workshop and a leadership course. NCBI is a nonprofit leadership training organization based in Washington, D.C. Since 1984, NCBI has been working to eliminate prejudice and intergroup conflict in communities throughout the world.

NCBI has trained leadership teams in a variety of settings, including high schools, colleges and universities, corporations, foundations, correctional facilities, law enforcement agencies, government offices, and labor unions. Currently NCBI has 50 city-based leadership teams, known as NCBI Chapters; 30 organization-based leadership teams, known as NCBI Affiliates; and over 60 college/university-based teams, known as Campus Affiliates.

I am a member of the American Red Cross’ Disaster Division. On April 20, 2002, I received the National Disaster Services Volunteer Award for the Louisiana Acadian Area Chapter of the Red Cross. I am a member of the Southwest Louisiana Black Chamber of Commerce and have been named its member of the month. I am also a Voter Commissioner and a past member of several Pharmacy associations.

I am a Pan American Health Organization Scholar and a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) recipient granted permission to study Disaster Management and Humanitarian Studies in their programs at no cost. I have been a candidate for the International Association of Emergency Management Scholarship. I have also been a past fellow candidate with the American Association for the Advancement of Science and Engineering.

Lastly, I am owner and CEO of Disaster Logistics, a consultant firm I am forming specializing in the potential disaster assessment and identification, mitigation, and response actions. I am also doing research and development in the process of proactive systems in the field of disaster management.
