• Maintain and operate magnetron sputtering system, mw plasma CVD system to deposit the thin film coating and nanodiamond coating.

• Investigate of the formation and stability of ternary thin-film systems based on Chromium-Nitride (CrN).

• Fabricate binary CrN, MoN and ternary CrMoN thin films and explore their potential for the applications where high hardness, toughness, and wear-resistance are critical.

• Characterize the super hard thin film and nanodiamond coatings by using techniques like XRD, AFM, Nanoindentation, SEM/TEM, XPS, Profilometer, Nano-tribometer and Raman, etc.
