ACADAMIC PROJECT AND SEMINAR

• Temperature Measurement and Control of generator using PLC interfacing.

This project aims at temperature monitoring using RTDS at Scengulam Power House, Kerala, India. The output of temperature sensors directly goes to the PLC.The temperatures are displayed in an analog meter and it has a mechanically controlled trip mechanism.

• De-icing of EHV Transmission lines by using Short-circuit currents.

This paper presented a new method for de-icing EHV bundled conductor transmission lines following severe ice storms.The method involves circulating short-circuit current(ISC) at rated voltage of the transmission lines and the subsequent action of electromagnetic forces that allow conductors to knock against each other to de-ice

TRAININGS ATTENDED

• Attended one week training in KERALA STATE ELECTRICITY BOARD, Kerala, India. The training included study of 220 kV lines and transformers.
