Sole Shopko C++ technical architect for Motorola MC9090 RF Scanners and O'Neil wireless printer daemon deployed to some 141 stores.  Most recent project involved leading team of off shore developers while remaining technical lead, analyst and developer.  Teammate feedback includes endorsements as making the best scanner enhancements to date. Leverage methodology to generate analysis, design, unit and integration test, sign-off, and deployment documentation.  Replaced vendor that had previously supported all the C++ development thereby providing significant savings and much improved project management to the company. Developer on-boarding new states into legacy auto and home insurance application supporting quotes, policies, renewals, declines, and claims. Leverage methodology to perform analysis and design documentation as well as test plans.  This effort included maintaining Java J2EE applications, and corresponding C/C++ middleware to import Internet auto quotes into legacy system. Developed Oracle package to interface to GeoCoding Web Service, accessible to all Oracle packages, functions and procedures. Additional business and corresponding revenue generated as auto and home insurance was introduced to additional states. Adhered to SDLC by writing design, implementation and test documentation.

Made extensive modifications to autofil MS Word 6.0 templates with customer specific HTML to automatically create contracts and various other documents. Logicalis Consultant 06/2005 to 01/2006

Assisted with migration to IBM P570 Unix servers to process large volumes of medical and RX claims data for various health care providers. Efforts included upgrading releases of software running on these servers, including Ab Initio, Oracle, and Load Leveler. Security improvements were made utilizing Secure Shell.  Documented migration plan, step-by-step guide for specific migration paths and various test results.  Responsibilities included performing full and incremental Ab Initio runs of client medical and RX claims. Also responsible for debugging issues uncovered during the runs. Developed plans to create Unix file systems on the P570’s. Implemented solution to access UFS mounted file system to legacy IBM SP2 architecture used to FTP data to and from MVS.  These efforts proved to be vital as maintenance was terminating for the existing antiquated computer equipment and software.

Performed Ab Initio development to on-board new clients to process incremental and full medical and RX claims processing for health care providers. Also performed Unix administration by managing user profiles and creating Unix cron jobs.  Each new client onboarded brought in huge new revenue streams.

Assisted with initial installation of IBM Content Manager (CM) solution to electronically manage customer auto loans and home mortgages. This required knowledge of WebSphere Application Server (WAS), JSP, XML, and HTML. ZyQuest Consultant 03/1999 to12/1999

In less than three weeks, developed a very reliable server application to create auto quotes and then later convert the quotes into policies at point of sale.  All transaction processing occurred real time. Application performance was also very impressive. The system was written in C accessing Oracle via Pro-C using PL/SQL in the form of embedded SQL and stored procedures. The client component of the system was deployed at Ace Check Cashing stores across the US, providing many locations for generating new business.

ZyQuest Consultant 11/1997 to 03/1999

Developed production control migration processes to move applications into the production environment. Technical Lead and developer to providing scalable automated processes. Designed, documented, developed, tested and installed these production move processes on Sun Solaris UNIX servers using Shell Scripts. Also managed these projects with respect to developing and maintaining project plans and estimates to complete. Specific duties consisted of:

· UNIX System Administration performing release upgrades and applying patches, performance monitoring, and installing hardware.

· Analyze, design, document and implement sophisticated Lawson ERP Production Move process including ability to roll back to the previous release. Led meetings to gather requirements for this project. Conducted design meetings to ensure feasibility and efficiency. This application and corresponding documentation was later made available to Johnson & Johnson where it was incorporated into their production control environment. Development and production environments on different UNIX servers required the use of FTP and telnet. Also leveraged sudo to ensure security.

· Java Production Environment Migration: IT Production Control Project Lead, analyst, and implementer for the production control environment on OS/390 UNIX Services. Analyze, design, document and implement production migration. Led meetings to gather requirements and design criteria on this project. Received Certificate of Appreciation award for this effort.

· Additional UNIX Automation: Develop Shell Scripts for Security Administration, Helpdesk, and Lawson User Menu.

· Training: Developed curriculum and conducted training for UNIX Fundamentals and UNIX Shell Scripting classes.

· Wrote Awk script to convert Comma Separated Value (CSV) records to fixed record length format for a Lawson application taking into account that comment fields often times included commas.

Led successful Sales Force Automation project, analyzing, designing and assisting in the development of integrated laptop environment for the sales force, this after two earlier failed attempts before being hired on. Key player in selection of laptops and software used by the sales force as well as implementing the infrastructure.  Responsible for all third party vendor relationships pertinent to the technical aspects of the sales force laptops.

Responsible for organizing, planning and conducting all technical aspects of a very successful national sales force training session.  Over 100 sales representatives, divided into four groups, each at different phases of the rollout, were accounted for. One group received their laptops with the basic software, and each remaining group received new software and upgrade to the existing software.  All groups received the training necessary to leverage the laptops.  Also performed ccMail training to one of the groups and received great feedback.

For this international consumer product’s company, developed and maintained a sales force automation order entry system written in Microsoft C. Responsible for major enhancements to this application including:

· Integral analyst and developer on the project to provide Market Program updates to customers via EDI

· Conceived, analyzed, designed and developed initial version Electronic Software Distribution to the sales reps

· Overhauled the sales force installations with ecstatic response as the new process dramatically cut down on troubleshooting calls to corporate support personnel.

· Opportunity to assist with this problem as it had been holding up the rollout for over a month.

Received Extraordinary Contribution Award for efforts during a major rewrite of the 5 ESS development environment. This effort consisted of writing C programs and UNIX Shell Scripts as well as training over 500 5ESS developers on the use of conversion tools. Also provided Unix Administration with responsibilities including installing new Unix releases, upgrades patches, and system backups. Other responsibilities consisted of providing help desk support to the 5ESS development community.
