Working for Rasasri Systems Pvt. Ltd., a proprietary software developer, the responsibilities included:

• Application development & Database Administration of the Automobile Pricing System for Spectra Motors. The back end is on Oracle 7.2 on UNIX. This project has around 55 tables and about 30 forms and 25 reports was actively involved from the database Design phase.

• Customizing the primary design of databases as per customer requirements, however this was susceptible to changes. Application programming involved a lot of attached libraries, stored procedures etc, to retain flexibility in the event of a change in the database design.

• Application tuning. This was accomplished by constant testing and monitoring of the application using advanced Oracle tools such as performance pack and enterprise manager. Cost based optimization was extensively used and statistics were generated periodically.

• Cold and hot backup schemes implemented at client’s site as specified.
