Helpdesk/PC Support, Network Administrator March 2002 – June 2005

Worked on a team to integrate OlyNet’s Emerald Accounting Database and Email into the ReachOne’s Platypus Database. Setup the MS SQL DB for weekly full backup and daily incremental. Worked with junior employees and trained them on proper procedures in setting up the 3COM NAS devices. Worked with 3COM to upgrade from 48 ports to 288 ports on all the NAS devices. Helped with forming a plan with CenturyTel and Qwest Telco’s to integrate the OlyNet customers onto the ReachOne Network. Helped identify all upgrades needed within the network including the Cisco Routers and switches. Was team leader working with Pacific County PUD in allowing ReachOne to resell the excess bandwidth on the Pac. PUD’s fiber network to local businesses and residents. Worked with both Emerald and Platypus A&A keeping ticket’s up to date of all work done.

Started with primary duties being the office manager and lead helpdesk phone and in house support tech. Help build OlyNet to over 4000 clients. Built over 1000 Microsoft Workstations and over 100 servers. As the business grew I hired and trained new helpdesk personnel and took over as the lead Network Administrator in 1998. At this time I also took over ownership. I administrated all the Microsoft and Linux Servers and the Cisco Routers and switches. Installed, tested and maintained Cat3, Cat5, Cat6 and Coax cabling. Installed all server racks, cabling trays and Earthquake proofing. Implemented Emerald Accounting and Authentication software which allowed OlyNet to implement a ticketing system to track all work done. Successfully grew the business from 16 pots lines with a 56k Frame Relay Internet connection to over 400 dialup 56k lines and 200+ DSL clients with a DS3 Internet connection over an OC3. OlyNet served over 300 Websites for various clients and had contracts with over a dozen local businesses to be 24*7 on call tech support.
