OBJECTIVE

A position as an engineer that can utilize experience in engineering research and design.

EXPERIENCE

Texas Research Institute, Austin, Texas (Jan. 2008 – Feb. 2009)

Materials Science Engineer:

• Developed and characterized high performance materials for various applications such as thermal resistant coatings, blast and ballistic resistant polymers and corrosion resistant sealants.

• Utilized Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to create design solutions for specialized ballistic and blast resistant applications.

• Wrote proposals to compete in Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program, and wrote periodic reports on ongoing DoD researches.

Functional Thin Film Processing and Characterization Group, College Station, Texas (May 2007 – Dec. 2007)

Research Assistant:

• Developed transparent conducting epitaxial thin films using PLD (Pulsed Laser Deposition) technique.

• Studied and analyzed the thin film properties using TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy), SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy), XRD (X-ray Diffraction), four-point probe measurement and spectrometer.

Tribology in Extreme Environment Laboratory, College Station, Texas (Sept. 2006 – May 2007)

Research Assistant:

• Developed in situ nanostructured tribofilms on low-carbon steel for friction resistant applications.

• Characterized tribofilms using AFM (Atomic Force Microscopy), SEM, XRD, nano-indentation techniques and surface profile measurements.

Cabot Corporation, Columbus, Ohio (Sept. 2005 – Dec. 2005)

Internship:

• Utilized SEM and Instron Mechanical Testing System to analyze the structural and mechanical properties of tantalum sputtering targets used in PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) process.

• Performed Solder Analysis and mechanical testing to improve the bonding strength between tantalum and copper.
