Responsible for the training and mentoring of the battalion staff, which include Battalion Commander, Battalion Executive Officer, S-1(Personnel Management), S-2 (Physical Security), S-3 ( Training and Operations), S-4 (Supply Management), S-5 (Public Affairs), and the battalion Command Sergeant Major. Responsible for approving and reviewing Government Credit Card (GPC) purchases. Responsible for giving instructions/classes on communication and writing skills to the juniors (LET 3), seniors (LET 4). Classes on insights of military services and scholarships that are offered through the Army JROTC program. Trained S-1, S-2, S-3, S-4 and S-5 on JUMS computer system, Microsoft Office Word 2007, Microsoft Office Excel 2007, Microsoft Office Power Point 2007, Microsoft Office Publisher 2007, printers, Fax, and copy machines. Conducting physical training, Drill and Ceremony, Color Guard, Raider Team, Unarmed Drill Team, supply wall to wall inventories, sensitive items inventory, teach LET 3 and LET 4 cadets. In addition to those duties and responsibilities listed in Army Regulation145-2, responsible for direction, coordination and supervises the U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) Program in the high school to which assigned in accordance with the law, policies and directives of the U.S. Army, Director of Army Instruction and the School Principal insuring that all program objectives are meet. All action requirements inherent in the in my duties and tasks contained in my job description as well as those contained in Army Regulation 145-3 are the part of my responsibilities. However, certain tasking actions I delegate to the Army Instructor. I insured that the school’s JROTC program is managed in accordance with the policies and directives of Department of the Army and San Juan County School Board. Read and review all correspondence received from the parent Army headquarters, Director of Army Instruction and the School Principal to determine information required for operation of the individual JROTC program. Informs the School Principal of Army regulations policies, directives and procedures affecting the operation of the JROTC program in order to insure the principal formulates his/her ROTC policies consistent with those of the U.S. Army. Produce and maintain current Standing Operation Procedure (SOP) in order to insure the Army Instructor Cadre and the School Administration are aware of and comprehend the policies, procedures and directives of the U.S. Army, Director of Schools, Director of Army Instruction and the School Principal. Insure that all required instruction is presented and meets desired learning objectives.
