PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Larsen & Toubro, INDIA, (Planning and Execution Department) Jul 2007 - Jul 2008
• Worked as a planning coordinator for Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Project (ADGAS), a 45 million USD EPC venture, where 8 on-shore process platforms along with 18 pressure vessels were to be fabricated
• Directly dealt with client and outsourced project activities to local vendors to achieve multi-tasking that saved project time by 3 weeks and project cost by $10,000. Also got familiar with ASME/ASTM code requirement
• Streamlined process layout at site and reduce process time by 8%
• Scheduled project activities and coordinated tasks with numerous departments (Eng., Procurement, Quality & Fabrication). Monitored progress and generated recovery plan using tools such as MS Project and Primavera
• Extensively used MS Excel for acquisition, manipulating and analysis of field data.
• Solved problems in areas of welding, fabrication tooling and measurement while working as a fabrication coordinator (at site) for fabrication of pressure vessels and piping spools
Electrosteel Castings Limited, Kolkata, India (Trainee) Nov 2006 - Dec 2006
• Gained exposure to in-house captive power plant and manufacturing of steel pipes
• Mapped the Material Flow Process, implemented 5S, and eliminated wastage
ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Process Analysis and Improvement of Academic Advising Office, Mays Business School Jan 2009
• Implemented DMAIC model of Six Sigma by statistically analyzing the data collected through a self conducted survey, modeling it on EXTEND, did a root cause to identify the problems and recommended alternatives that reduce average waiting time for students by 40%
Drill Pipe Manufacturing Process Jan 2009
• Used Lean techniques and develop optimization model to evaluate the favorable batch size that reduces work in process inventory by 25% between upsetting and heat treatment operation for the fabrication of drill pipes
Data Center Process evaluation and modeling Mar 2009
• Optimize the number of server required to meet random broadband request (for each hour) and helped in decision making by trading off operational energy consumption and fatigue life of the server
Research project (volunteer), “Risk Management in Supply Chain Systems” Dec 2008
• Working on literature review and data collection for risk mitigation model for supply chain against uncertain disruption of activity at US port to optimize the inventory level for a mobile set manufacturer
Final Semester Project- Design and Fabrication of Vertical Axis Wind Turbine, MIT Jan 2007
• Worked in a team of 3 for gathering technical resources and fabrication at workshop for an innovative project that aimed at providing cost effective auxiliary power source to ferries during fishing at night
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Languages: C++, VB, CNC Programming, SAS; Project Management: MS Project, Primavera, Access, Baan (ERP); Modeling Tools: Extend simulation, MINITAB, LP Solver, Auto CAD, Pro-Engineering, ANSYS
LEADERSHIP & ACTIVITIES
