Direct Duties and Responsibilities:

• Understanding Internal/External user requirements, document and design systems to cater for user requirements.

• Development and Deployment of systems using Informix -4GL and other development technologies using Informix as backend database.

• Integrate Informix applications with other software systems/Modules.

• Maintenance and enhancement of deployed systems.

Achievements:

• Maintain application programs to a higher level availability with data integrity & redundancy.

• Analyzing, Designing, Developing, Testing and maintaining Informix – 4GL based systems of the company.

• Coordinating overall Software development activities with other stake holders of the company.

• Unix systems administration done in Sun servers to create and administer systems users by giving relevant systems level and data base level privileges.

• Research, study and recommending new software tools and technologies to be used by IT staff for new system development and implementation.

Achievements:

• Great Involvement of developing a software system to allocate and monitor Textile Quota in Sri Lankan Textile industry by using Informix-4GL at Textile Quota Board Sri Lanka. This project consists of 5 large scale Remote servers to connect to each other using ADSL lines and transfer data to remote locations from 4GL applications with Mega Data handling capability.

• Maintain, monitor and optimize Informix Databases locally as well as remotely with secured login authentication Module and learnt certain techniques behind load balancing and query optimization concepts.

• Active participation to core business of the company by developing applications for existing Term Loan Management, Leasing , Fixed Deposit, Real Estate and General Ledger Software Products .

• Successful development team member of the project called ‘ANZIDAC’ which is an optimized search engine developed by Microsoft Visual C++ version 6.0 to Australian industry.
