• Bureau of Worker’s Compensation, Ohio Division for Safety and Hygiene (Jan 2012- Present)

o Responsible for analyzing workers compensation data to evaluate reductions in claims frequency and severity associated with Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program.

o Involved in process improvement and re- engineering of grant application process for safety grants.

o Involved with applying data integrity and statistical methodologies using data mining techniques to assist research efforts to understand claims for injuries of workers at workplace.

o Responsibilities include working with data, cleaning variables, filling missing data points, merging various data sets and determining methodology to be applied to analyze the data set.

• Ohio University (Jun 2010- Dec 2011)

(Funded by a research project by General Electric Energy to develop the methodology for cost estimation)

o Primarily involved in assisting GE Energy to develop methods to get cost estimates for preliminary designs of shells of the steam turbines with a team of professors at Ohio University.

o Demonstrated successful use of JAVA and custom built packages to draw geometry and get accurate cost estimates.

o Involved in extensive and skillful use of JAVA to model complex rotational and non-rotational features on the outer casing of a steam turbine.

o Implemented feature based modeling technique to get accurate cost estimates by calculating volume from the cut-section geometry and thereby getting weight based on the alloy used.

o Re-engineered the code so as to optimize memory used and help setup an efficient hierarchy of attributes.

o Primarily involved with the Oil and Gas special projects division, which built offshore platform for oil companies

o Evaluated whether CCPM (Critical Chain Project Management) was a more realistic methodology than the conventional project management for the company, which helps the complete the project ahead of schedule by reducing the cost overrun.

o Re-engineered the back end processes so as to complete projects on time and make it cost effective.

• Tata Steel Limited, India (Jan – August 2008)

o Involved with the Supply management cell in the Wire division of Tata Steel Limited.

o Demonstrated successful use of Inventory Management techniques and cut down the inventory by 300,000 by using ABC classification. Also another 100,000 was saved by auctioning the maintenance spares to the prospective bidders.

o Developed a new model for vendor management with the sourcing department so as to give a structure to price negotiations and value added propositions.

o Conducted time study for various warehouse operations and helped optimize and improve warehouse operations by modifying existing processes.

o Implemented Process Mapping to perform manufacturing process control of the stub shaft.

o Improved yield of the component and reduced scrap rate for the component by reducing waste using Lean Management and Value Stream Mapping.

o Assisted in over hauling of the Rolls Royce and GE Gas Turbines.

o Implemented the Lean Initiative for simplified market pull scheduling and critical path analysis.
