Manage day to day operations, installation of Fiber Optic Systems, installation of IP Cameras, Installation of Category 5e and 6 cabling systems in both new and existing construction. Maintained and upgraded existing telephone systems performing cross-connects along with working on Voice Over IP Systems, and internal paging systems. Performed demo jobs including removal of all existing cable, installation of new backbone cabling, build out network interface closets including MDF and IDF, installation of ladder racks, cable trays, data patch panels and 110 phone blocks. Pulled horizontal and back bone cable for all new construction. Operation of router to install pathways in underground conduit, pulled backbone cable via underground and above ground utilizing Greenlee Tugger Equipment. All jobs were certified using a Fluke Network Tester.

TEXAS WOMANS UNIVERSITY– Denton, TX

Field Engineer, October 2000 – April 2006

Reported directly to Telecommunications Manager. Heavy verbal communication with various Department Heads regarding network connectivity. Duties included: Maintaining, reporting and targeting budget specific issues for MAC Contract (Moves, Additions and Changes), interview, communicate (written and verbal) with State certified and approved vendors with direct responsibility of collection, review and input into final determination of bids regarding special projects. Manage and maintain new users, changes, additions and deletions for 2400 IMX NEC Switch including issuing long distance access codes for departments/users and perform daily system backup to disk. Performed upgrades to hardware including installation of various Cisco Network Switches, install and replace patch cables, patch panels, fiber jump cables, tone and document all connections for entire Denton and Dallas, TX campuses (approximately 40,000 plus users in over 52 buildings). Install and maintain all emergency use phones (code blue phones). Travel required for Houston, TX campus in which I was directly responsible for upgrades to switches, patch cables, patch panels, rerouting of cable to upgraded panels.
