Professional Experience

More than 7 years in commercial and residential construction management, including accurate takeoffs, estimating, blue print reading, budgeting, accounting, purchasing, contracting, scheduling, safety, and quality control for all aspects of the construction project from preconstruction to owner turnover. Worked effectively with various owners, architects, engineers, developers, bank representatives, subcontractors, vendors, and city inspectors.

OSHA 30 hour certified and 8 hours of training in the Incident and Injury Free Program.

Work Experience

ASI LIMITED, CHICAGO, IL

Project Engineer September 2009 – July 2010

Worked on-site on a project team on a $35 million, 366,000 square foot, Building Façade Enclosure System. Installation system consisting of intricate unitized curtain wall units, window wall units, dens glass, air and water vapor, building insulation, and composite metal rain screen panels.

Project Responsibilities:

r RUSH UNIVERISTY MEDICAL CENTER –EAST TOWER REPLACEMENT HOSPITAL

r Managed the delivery of over 10,000 individual project materials from fabrication plant to the project site.

r Daily communication with the fabrication plant to monitor what was completed and ready to deliver.

r Coordinated with the construction manager on updates of all daily deliveries and installation activities.

r Created and tracked daily installation of all unit assemblies, anchors, panels, louvers, steel supports.

r Quality Control for all aspects of project including critical anchor attachments and seals.

r Worked with 3 subcontractors on a daily basis to coordinate work activities, deliveries, and safety.

Worked on a project team on a $26 million, simultaneous demolition, renovation, and construction of 3 adjacent buildings, totaling 150 units, for the Chicago Housing Authority.

Project Responsibilities:

r DEARBORN HOMES PHASE 3 – CHA (CHICAGO HOUSING AUTHORITY)

r Created and managed the entire submittal process for all 3 buildings using Timberline and Prolog Web.

r Managed daily subcontractor activities by answering RFI’s and scheduling material deliveries dates.

r Reviewed, analyzed, and approved Subcontractor change orders created from Owner and Architect Addendums.

r Developed the closeout documentation list, including warranties and owner and maintenance manuals.

r Developed the punch list for all 3 buildings utilizing an excel spreadsheet.

GILBANE BUILDING COMPANY. CHICAGO, IL

Project Engineer March 2008-January 2009

Worked full-time on-site on a project team on a $150 million, 820 student room dormitory building for the University of Chicago in Hyde Park.

Project Responsibilities:

r NEW RESIDENCE HALL – UNIVERISTY OF CHICAGO

Managed and directed the 3 interior trade subcontractor packages. These included the drywall, painting, and rough and finish carpentry contracts. Managed daily subcontractor activities, including weekly update and schedule, meetings, RFI’s, submittals, pay applications, and closeout documents.

r Quality Manager for the entire project. Successfully managed the project Rolling Completion List for all trades to minimize punch list items by 30% at the end of the project.

r Completed all visual in-wall inspections prior to drywall installation. Followed-up with subcontractor foreman to complete items from inspections on a daily basis before wall enclosure.

r Reviewed first delivery inspections on materials. Organized and completed benchmark and mockup inspections with trade contractors and Architects to ensure client satisfaction.

r Implemented the material status report for all finish carpentry cabinetry and millwork to schedule deliveries and coordinate with other trades work for installation.

r Worked with project team members to coordinate daily scheduling conflicts and coordinating material storage and delivery times.

r Reviewed and updated the project schedule with superintendent to reflect actual dates for activities in Primavera Suretrak.

Managed the interior trade subcontractor packages for the 150,000 square foot, 3 story Dining Facility project. Created and tracked the material status reports to schedule deliveries of materials under each package. Created, reviewed and tracked submittals and RFI’s.

r Loading Dock Project – University of Chicago

Managed the 6 trade subcontractor bid packages for the 100,000 square foot project. Held post-bid meetings with final subcontractors to finalize complete scope of work. Created the Material Status Report to schedule deliveries of materials under these packages. Created, reviewed and tracked submittals and RFI’s.

r Purchasing Department – Gilbane Midwest Main Office

Spent 3 months prior to Residence Hall Project in the main office Purchasing Department putting together bid proposals, purchase orders and subcontracts for multiple project phases in construction and preconstruction. Managed bidder lists and contacted multiple contractors, to analyze and confirm coverage of all trades associated with the project phases under bid. Answered bidder’s questions concerning bid proposals to assure understanding of intended scope. Directed and attended bid openings at owner offices.
