Software Quality Assurance Engineer

Wrote test scripts, and performed functional testing on portable voice recognition devices. I would install, and update software on servers, and devices, and perform manual testing and log any bugs detected. I was responsible for the testing on new devices, making sure they performed to our standards.

Senior Test Technician

Responsible for the transition of new products from Engineering to Manufacturing. This included dealing with contract manufacturers, and vendors. Tested, and repaired all of the Voxware speech recognition products. Repaired all of the systems, and circuit boards that were returned from the field. Handled Technical Support calls from customers, and within the company. Helped engineering with new product development. Changed designs in order to make products cheaper, better, and easier to manufacture. Designed and built test beds, and burn in racks for several products. I wrote all of the test procedures in manufacturing for new products.

Field Service Manager

Responsible for the support on all of the Medialogic product lines.

I was solely responsible for all phone support. I issued all RMA numbers for customer repairs, and handled many of the on site calls. I was responsible for all of the systems and associated hardware that came in for repair, this included repairs of PCB’s down to the component level. I also helped sales with on site system demonstrations of the equipment, and trade show setup and support.

Associate Engineer

Brought up new PCB’s including debug. Built prototype circuits on

Breadboards using schematics. Wrote testing procedures for manufacturing. Built a variety of test beds for the testing of PCB’s. I worked with PCB layout to make sure all of the ECO’s are implemented correctly. Used a variety of test equipment such as Oscilloscopes. Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, Frequency Counters, and DVM’s.

Found second sources for obsolete or long lead time components. Worked with Documentation Control on new product design.

Group Leader/Board Repair Technician

Responsible for the scheduling of work through the line in order to meet company shipping commitments. Ran the Board Repair Depot, making sure all of the PCB’s were properly tested and calibrated before either going to a customer or to stock. Worked in System Integration, when scheduling was tight. Traveled extensively both domestic, and internationally for system installation and customer training. Worked extensively with our subsidiary in California, to receive training on several product lines, in order to manufacture them back in Plainville. This included the writing of procedures and the training of employees.
