WORK EXPERIENCE
Research/Teaching Assistant
San Diego State University
January 2011 - December 2011
• CAE/FEA Analysis on marine and aerospace applications like stiffened panel, wing box structure and adhesive joints. Also worked on automotive engine application like crank shaft assembly.
• Determined peel & shear stresses in various adhesive lap joints using NASTRAN tool and validate results with analytical close form solutions. Also, studied crack propagation through an adhesive bond for the same models.
• Goal is to investigate stresses and failure of end terminations in composite hat stiffened panels. This includes the calculation of peel and shear stresses in the stiffener-skin bond interface at the end terminations using FEMAP/NASTRAN.
Design Engineer Intern
InspirOn Engineering
July 2007 – August 2008
• Responsible for the documentation of analyses, layouts, and designs up to and including final engineering drawings.
• Involved in research and development of new project with under Sr. Design Engineer.
• Developed CAD models designs with assembly drawings with Bill of materials for the design products using Solid works and CATIA v5.
• Involved in developing new material process to alternate with cost reduction also quote new/existing parts.
• Worked closely with the Engineering Management team in developing new commercial products to help meet company’s growth objectives.
Project Engineer Intern
Vadodara flying Club, INDIA
March 2007 - June 2007
• Worked on a project titled “Modeling and Meshing of an Aircraft Wing.
• Design an Aircraft wing with all basic components such as spars, skin, stringers and ribs. Modeling was done using CATIA V5 meshing was performed using Hyper Mesh.
Engineering Intern / Vocational Training
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited
January 2006 - March 2006
• Assign to work in manufacturing and assembly shop to understand manufacturing and assembly process.
• Taken extensive training that involved hands-on experience on lathes, milling and drilling machines in aircraft manufacturing industry.

B.S. Aeronautical Engineering Gujarat University, Ahmadabad, Gujarat, INDIA June 2007
ACADEMIC PROJECT
Analysis of Frame/Truss, Plate and Beam under different load condition
Aimed of project is to develop skills in using commercial finite element programs. The problems will require developing geometry models, finite element models, meshing, performing FE analysis and post-processing the results. Required depth analysis of how we verified the accuracy of the numerical analysis.
Finite Element Analysis & Design of a Multi-cell Wing Box
Analyze and size the aircraft hexagonal wing-box structure using commercial general purpose finite element analysis software. Developed FEMAP model of the multi-cell wing box structure (with multiple spars, ribs, spar caps and stringers) and performed linear static and buckling analyses using NX/ NASTRAN and ANSYS software.
Finite Element Linear Analysis
Developed a MATLAB code for finite element linear bifurcation analysis of a compressively loaded circular arch.
3D Structural Topology Optimization
Developed a MATLAB code for topology optimization of a 3D solid body under static load. Implemented optimality criteria based design optimization using finite element analysis and analytical sensitivity.
Solid Modeling of Machine Elements
Developed solid models of automotive wheel, valve and crankshafts using Solid works™ software and converted them to FE mesh for analysis in Solid Works and Pro-Engineer™ software. Created model assemblies, specified tolerances and created drawings for fabrication.
