OBJECTIVES

• To get a position as Technology Team Leader.

• Apply my experience in polymer processing and technology for problem solving, product

improvement.

• Add value to product portfolio via development and improvement.

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS

• Industrial experience as R&D Engineer for polyolefin flexible film and packaging applications and processing including orientation of polyolefin films (MDO).

• Planning, design and evaluation of pilot campaigns for development project work

• Experience & trouble shooting in multilayer film extrusion process and familiarity with other polymer applications: compounding, thermoforming, pipe, injection/blow moulding.

• Proficient in polymer characterization as Rheology, SEC, X-Rays, Microscopy.

• Proactive and self starter who takes ownership on tasks.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Borealis Polyolefine GmbH; Linz, Austria. May 2008 – September 2010.

Position: Research Engineer.

Activities:

• Developed next generation polyolefin grades for film applications by analyzing structure-property-processing relationships of the polymer.

• Proactively assisted Business Units in the implementation of novel technologies for the development of new film products

• Established core competencies in polymer film morphology-processing-end properties by developing strong relationships between R&D and other departments.

• Established know how on uniaxial orientation technology for films (MDO)

• Provided technical/troubleshooting consultancy to external customers, as well as to sales and marketing peers translating their needs into new product opportunities.

• Conducted patent analysis and secured industry knowledge and intellectual property by generating periodic internal reports submission of invention disclosures.

University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. Sept. 2004- Mar. 2008.

Position: PhD Research Assistant.

• Conducted rheological characterization of polymer melts in capillary, shear and extension

• Prepared material for publications, international conferences, and poster presentations.

• Execute Technical Project (non PhD work) for rheological and mechanical characterization and processing for a Bioplastic. Gave feedback and consultancy.

Industrias Automotrices RC, SA, Mexico, D.F. Oct. 2003- Jun. 2004

Position: R&D Internship Engineer.

• Designed hydraulic-rubber mountings for engine and suspension in the automotive industry by applying vibration control analysis.

• Successfully interacted with international customers and suppliers with the aim of developing new products (VOLVO, FORD, NISSAN).

• Improved the company’s activities of product design and development through implementation of Quality Control Normativity (APQP Ford & General Motors)

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Trouble-shooting in extrusion and film processing for small, mid and big scale film lines, including monolayer and multi layer lines.

• Working knowledge of DoE software and statistical analysis (MODDE, MiniTab).

• Strong foundations in advanced polymer characterization techniques: X-Rays, SEC, microscopy (AFM, SEM), with the aim to well establish structure-property-processing relationships.

• Hands-on in rheological characterization of polymer melts: capillary extrusion (Instron, Bohlin RH2000), linear viscoelasticity (Anton Paar MCR 501 Bohlin – CVOR) and extensional rheology (SER Universal Testing Platform).

• Knowledgeable in other polymer processing operations: Cast film, Machine Direction Orientation, Injection molding, Compounding of polyolefins

• Experience in uniaxial orientation process for films (MDO) for PE and PP and evaluation of processing conditions in film properties

• Successfully determined structure-property relationships of polyolefines by correlating with their processing, achieving the improvement and launching of new film grades.
