Manager II; Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling, and Planning Department

Served as functional manager in a newly developing organization within Space Vehicles & Deployables (SV&D) directorate.

• Cultivated, led, and managed team of 34 direct reports of highly technical mechanical engineers/planners. Facilitated more than 15 space and airborne programs and their requirements of electro-mechanical hardware. MRP commodities included large scale assemblies, composite materials, modules, hybrids, cryocoolers, machined parts, propulsion systems, heat pipes, harnesses, solar panels, and RF cables. Successfully staffed and grew team over 200% in twelve months.

• One of only four employees out of hundreds nominated selected across Space Park and El Segundo campuses for Northrop Grumman Executive Leadership Development Program. Four protégés are matched with four different vice president mentors.

• As technical lead of 20+ engineers and technicians, responsible for domestic and international delivery of both new and repaired radar subsystems. Knowledge of ITAR regulations and performed visits to the field to mitigate anomalies as needed.

• Worked with global teams, supporting issues at locations across several different time zones.

• Acted as CAM (Cost Account Manager) and liaison to program office, working with budgets of 5M+.

As Manufacturing Engineering Lead, developed processes, corrected/aligned engineering test requirements, led efforts in vendor accountability, waste reduction, and investigative requests. Served on CCB (Change Control Board) as panel member.

• Analyzed trends of products, initiating cost reductions through standardization of materials and cycle time improvements.

• Performed failure analyses for defective products returned from the field, isolating and mitigating anomalies and ensuring successful redelivery to customer.

• Selected to lead several tiger teams leading engineers, technicians, planners, quality, and supply chain for space and tactical airborne programs VIIRS, Q27/Q29, and Global Hawk.

Senior Systems Engineer II; Systems Verification Center 08/2005 – 04/2007

As System Integrator on Raytheon Multi-Program Flying Testbed (RMT), integrated test equipment, achieving successful test flights of R&D X-Band and Ku-Band systems on Boeing 727 aircraft flying laboratory at LAX and China Lake AFB.

• Performed system analysis, troubleshooting, test, failure analysis and stress screening, devising and implementing test procedures and risk/mitigation plans.

• As liaison to COMSEC office for program security compliance, worked through security channels to ensure compliance with all government regulations.

As Radar Module and Unit Engineer Team and Technical Lead for AESA, JF-15, F/A-18, B2, MP-RTIP, Global Hawk, MP-RTIP WAS, North 20, P910, P1196 Programs, oversaw design manual and automated test stations and supervised manufacturing builds, electrical checkout and STE/hardware/software integration, with budget of over $500K. Recruited, hired, and mentored new employees. Received Raytheon Technical Honors Award.

• Led projects from concept to completion, utilizing synergistic relationships and team building activities, saving the Company thousands of dollars through innovative brainstorming and project management techniques, while valuing integrity, customer commitments, and streamlining engineering processes.

• As CAM supporting top level budget, schedule and staffing, created BOE (Budgets of Estimate) to support proposals, performed cost analysis, process improvement, and strategic planning utilizing EVMS to maintain budget and manpower according to current burn rate. Created IMS/IMP, developed safety and test plans, and performed system sell-off with appropriate training to technicians.
