Objective:
To serve and provide proper and excellent care to my patients while at the same time making a profitable return to my company without scarifying good professional judgment. Also, without pressure from non-pharmacists that would endanger my clients welfare. I want to join an organization that believes taking care of the patient is the number one priority, not practicing assembly line pharmacy. To lead and train others in this manner of practicing pharmacy, setting forth a path for the next generation of pharmacy practitioners.
Work Experience:
Present job:
HealthPro Staffing - Teri Brown - 614-***-****
Temporary staffing for the Ohio Department of Corrections - Sept, 2011 to present
Provides long term care for the State of Ohio Prison System
Giant Eagle Corporation - November 2008 - 2011
Floater and Staff Pharmacist - Healthcare Services
Floating and serving as a staff pharmacist in Medina, Ohio and Fairlawn, Ohio. I was the manager of the pharmacy when working and I help to provide superior customer service which is a very strong goal of this company. We did a high volume business, due to free antibiotics and the 4 dollar, 10 dollar generic plan. I was also a company immunizer which I find enjoyable, allowing a great environment to get to interact with patients on a more close and personal level. I signed on for a working bonus and time period of which I have completed to earn money for my sons college expenses, which is why I travel so far to work. It was a good experience but the travel of 75 miles one way was becoming a problem.
Target Corporation - December 2007 - July 2008
Exec Pharmacist/Floater
I went to Target to experience their brand of practicing pharmacy. With their innovative packaging of prescriptions and Clear RX bottles and offerings of free flavorings for medications to their young guest. Also, their promise of short commutes when floating and placing the guest as #1. I thought this was a unique way to practice pharmacy. Unfortunately, I found that the pharmacy was really a loss leader and not a high priority to the company in general and the front end people were in charge of the pharmacy. I find that working under this format was unacceptable. Pharmacist should be in charge of Pharmacists and their ancillary help and techs. This is not the case with Target. They have an untapped potential for their pharmacy, and if they ever decided to use it, it would be a viable force in the marketplace.
Wal-mart Pharmacy - February 2006 - November 2007
I took floater position with largest retailer in nation. I worked from Columbus to Ashland, Ohio. I just wanted to experience being a floater and expanding my horizons and have some down time. Big box retailing was a good thing to see and experience. The 4 dollar generic plan was a novel thing to experience, and ahead of its time. Had I not just been going back into a store situations instead of being in management I could have handled the volume better. It was a great system. They are going to be a cutting edge company in this changing health care world in which we practice.
Rite Aid Corporation
October 1999 - February 2006
Staff Pharmacist/Trainer /District Manager
Dispensing prescriptions, counseling patients, working knowledge of drive-thru pharmacy operation, working knowledge of biometrics and script-pro robotics. Highly interested in highly efficient workflow. My main concern is giving my patients excellent care while increasing the numbers. I was a Corporate Trainer installing Script-Pro Robotics machines in 17 states over a period of 9 months and training our people on the use of said machines. I was promoted to Pharmacy District Manager in 2003 in Southern West Virginia area, learning skills that would help in leadership roles fro the rest of my life. Stepped down to go back into stores to have patient contact once again, and to be home more often.
