Senior Vice President/General Manager

P & L responsibility for manufacturing division of public company with $53 million in divisional revenues and 600 employees. Divisional responsibilities included factories in China and the US, focused on the design, development and manufacture of flat-panel display components and systems primarily targeted at the mobile device OEM/ODM market.

• Created a $200 million sales opportunity pipeline by restructuring the salesforce and regionalizing application engineering support. Exceeded budgeted sales revenues by 17%.

• Obtained $273,000 / 750,000 unit-per-month tooling commitment for color cell phone display for tier-1 handset OEM with projected revenue of $8-$12 million per quarter . Drove establishment/qualification of responsive/flexible Asian-based supply-chain to ensure fast production ramp for this LCD including hubbing and vendor-managed inventory (VMI) agreements on key commodities.

• Implemented Sarbanes-Oxley compliance procedures and internal control functions through division.

• Sold unprofitable, Beijing-based, manufacturing subsidiary for $11 million in cash and an earn-out payment estimated at $11 million at time of sale.

Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Board of Directors (2002–2004)

A UK public company with 223 employees worldwide focused on the design, development and delivery of flat-panel display technologies and embedded computing solutions with $50 million in annual revenues and operations in US, Asia and Europe.

• Turned around operating loss of $7.9 million (£4.4m) in 2002 to operating profit of $1 million (£0.6m) at end of Q2 2004. Profits for 2004 exceeded $2.4 million (£1.3m).

• Took acquired assets of bankrupt public information display manufacturing company and grew sales of real-time passenger information signs to over $8 million. Installed effective controls and systems for continued profitable growth.

• Defined and implemented restructuring plan, including divesting three unprofitable or poorly performing non-core subsidiaries in the Internet services and motion control market spaces. Merged three Taiwanese subsidiaries by buying out minority shareholders, reducing both office and personnel costs. Dissolved a further eleven superfluous subsidiaries.
