Responsible for total plant functions in Safety, People, Quality, Cost and Service of a 217,000 square foot facility with 238 associates. This manufacturing facility services locations in Florida, Alabama, most of Georgia and a few locations in Mississippi, South Carolina and Louisiana.
Received “STAR PERFORMER AWARD” in March 2011 for plant contributions at the Waycross facility and support to the network of Simmons manufacturing locations in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico.
Production records were broken in 2009 by producing 2,235 units and again in 2012 by producing 2302 units in a single day.
Worked with the plant leadership TEAM to achieve SHARP (Safety & Health Achievement Recognition Program) re-certification for additional 3 years in 2011, versus an average re-certification of only 2 years.
Led initiatives that resulted in improved the OSHA Recordable Incident Rates to be some of the best in the network.
Exceeded “On-time and Complete” Customer Service targets every year.

Established an Associate Suggestion Process that allows associates to see the status of their suggestions, make assignments for Leadership to work with associates on implementations and to monitor results utilizing the Accountability Board. Implemented 5S and a system of sustaining 5S by utilizing a visual card system that is monitored daily at the Lean Management System boards.
Utilized MS Excel skills to develop an hour-by-hour spreadsheet to be used by Operations to monitor productivity every hour and capture flow interrupters for corrective action evaluations.
Continuously provide resources to other plants to assist in their Lean Management Tools, Lean Implementations and Lean Processes.

Fabric Center Manager
Owner and responsible for all functions of fabric cutting operations on three shifts that provided cut material for plant functions totaling 2,000,000 yards per year and 2,000,000 cuts per year.
Leadership of all operational functions within the fabric supply division including procurement, warehousing, inventory management, fabric cutting, and delivery of product to internal customers.
Partnered with the Corporate Human Resources and Sourcing functions to develop and execute a migration plan to vertically integrate the Steelcase fabric operation from an outsourced operation of another company. This led to millions of dollars in cost savings and dramatic service and quality improvements.
Piloted the use of the Lean Management System departmental board, which quickly became recognized as the leading example for the Corporation.
Supported departmental and plant goals by meeting or exceeding established (People, Cost, Quality, Speed) targets.
Facilitated numerous improvement projects within the division by utilizing project A3’s, accountability boards, and shop floor kaizens.
Improved OSHA injury frequency from 25.56 in FY06 to 0.00 in FY07. This includes 475 consecutive days on 1st shift and 333 consecutive days on 2nd shift OSHA incident free. This was accomplished through improvement projects and employee suggestions being implemented.
Developed and piloted a unique employees suggestion process and the rewards/recognition for this program. Trained all Steelcase Athens leaders to this program.
Developed a current state map and a future state layout of the fabric center that reduced waste and improved flow from receiving to final assembly areas.
Implemented 5S and a system of sustaining 5S by utilizing a visual card system that is maintained by production associates. Accountability is monitored by reporting daily on the Lean Management System boards
Involved with the establishing and completing an application for the Shingo prize. Primary ownership of this application was to work with HR in capturing and completing the Employee Involvement portion.
