Freeport Press - Bindery
Freeport Press is a Heat set Web printer specializing in short run publications and commercial work. While with Freeport Press I helped reorganized the bindery department , reducing the number of Stitcher operators needed from 16 people to 9 people. I implemented Training programs for the Folders and Stitchers and wrote SOP’s for all bindery crew members and operations.
I have strong people skills as well as technical skills in operations and maintaining bindery equipment. I have experience in developing training programs for various bindery equipment, including Muller perfect binders and Stitchers, MBO and Staul folders.
Sprint Press - Bindery operator
2005-2007
While at Sprint Press I helped reorganized the bindery from a 2 shift operation to a 3 shift operation without adding additional personal. This allowed us the capacity to run machinery 24 hour a day 5 days a week without adding overtime hours. Sprint Press is a high quality sheet-fed commercial printer with as many as 150 jobs on the floor at any given time. At Sprint Press I developed Procedures to reduce the number of defects to less than 1% and increase on time deliveries to a consistent 98-100%

Elmira APT - Stitcher Supervisor
1996-2002
Manage Stitcher Dept. It was at Elmira Litho that over a period of years I developed a production strategy for the stitching department that consisted of tree shift and operated with a minimum staff of one operator for two Stitchers. I was also involved in developing a folder department that operated on the same principle, running three folders for one operator. For this to work it was crucial to have a training program in place that included operators and crew members.
Bushman Press
1993-1996
Set up and operate Muller Stitchers. While at Bushman Pres I set up training programs for operating and maintaining Muller Stitchers. This training included training crew members as well as new and existing operators.

I also worked on the developing and marking of the Roto-Crease Scoring machine which we introduced to the printing industry.
