CONCOPHILLIPS (NORWAY)

Providing Project Support and Assurance in the HP/HT Wells drilling and completions programme and Equipment Qualification and technical integrity being designed and manufactured for these projects was ‘fit for intended use’.

During this period I was involved from the point of authorship of the Operator Quality Plans through multiple risk assessments and design reviews to final testing, certification, delivery and installation.

TRAFIGURA LTD (LONDON / NIGERIA)

Working directly with Trafigura senior management team on the James Town (FPSO) the OBE Field, assisting with the technical due diligence of the assets (including permits and potential liabilities), also assessing the vessel’s readiness for drilling operations and advising on production/drilling equipment interface issues. This assignment also involved the assessment of indigenous and international companies in the ‘local’ supply chain and production of a detailed action for pre-project activities required before the start of drilling operations.

• Overview and evaluating Jamestown FPSO of the process operation following international standards, and gap analysis of ‘Production Readiness’;

• Developing an emergency response plan and any operational procedures in coordination with Trafigura structure.

• Risk assessment on the interface between the field drilling programme and topside maintenance plan.

• Assessment and evaluating the impact of Installation of future gas lift compressor on the Jamestown structure, process and operational procedures.

• Implementation of a supplier monitoring system for Drilling, Completion & Process equipment.

BP EXPLORATION (RHUM) ABERDEEN

Assigned to Odfjell Drilling team on behalf of BP ensuring that the ‘Deep-sea Bergen’ (Equipment, Qualification and technical integrity and its crew (HPHT Competence) was ready for operations on Rhum. This assignment involved the categorisation of platform and drilling/completions equipment against a critically/risk model implementation of the programme of re-fit, supply chain assurance (completions kit) and crew training in the run-up to field operation.

Formal auditing of the rig and its crew to verify that the Deep-sea Bergen was providing a robust programme for training and competency is in place, particularly to high-risk equipments; also verifying that the Deep-sea Bergen was functioning in accordance with UK regulatory frameworks and the NPD equivalent guidelines.

BUREAU VERITAS JANUARY 2001 - AUGUST 2001

Offshore Verification Engineer

Management of the offshore installation contracts for Total, examinations and audits in accordance to DCR/PFEER for the North Alwyn and Dunbar platforms. Technical design reviews of wellheads control and process equipments to ASME standards. Mobile cabins and containers for offshore UK rigs and platforms/onshore Certification. I was seconded to Brown & Root and communicating between all the contracting companies making sure that projects executions were on time.

Inspection and issuing verification statements for all aspects of well control equipments. Other areas covered are fabrication of pipe work/structures, certification of mobile cabins and containers, witness mechanical and pressure testing on well control equipment to ASME standards, implementation of the Written Scheme of Verification of the BP Amoco North Sea platforms, and the Shell (UK) North Sea Platforms. On completing the verification of Shell Shearwater platform I received a verbal acknowledgment of contribution and on time completion.
