EXPERIENCE
X-FAB, Semiconductor Company, Lubbock, TX, summer 2010, Internship
I carried out a successful Wind Resource Assessment project to study and estimate wind profile over a long period of time. Some of my responsibilities were:
• Statistical data analysis using statistical software like Excel and JMP 8
• Software development to manipulate up to ten years of Meteorological data that have been recorded at every five second interval at reference sites. The major tools and technologies I used were: the .NET platform, VS2008 environment, C# language and MS SQL Server
• Estimation of the long term wind distribution of the site under consideration
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Statistical Packages: Excel, SAS 9, JMP 8
Simulation Tools: Cadence, Matlab
Programming Languages/Scripts: very comfortable with C#, Java, C
Databases: SQL server 2005/2008 R2, intermediate level Oracle 9i, MySql
IDEs: very comfortable with Eclipse, Netbeans, VS2005/2008/2010, Code Composer Studio v3.1
Hardware Board: TMS320C6713 DSK board
IT CERTIFICATIONS
CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) CCNA1, CCNA2, and CCNA3, Cisco regional networking academy at Addis Ababa University, January, 2006 – December, 2006
MAJOR ACADEMIC POJECTS
Analog IC Design Project:
Operational Amplifier Design: Design and layout of a self-biased operational amplifier using AMI06 CMOS process with the objective of meeting a predefined specification.
Embedded Systems:
TMS320C6713 DSK: written different programs (audio music generation, reverberation effect simulation, DTMF detection) for the TMS320C6713 DSP board using Code Composer Studio (CCS) IDE
Telecommunication Networks Project
µ-law Compression: µ-law coding and decoding of voice signals as an implementation of non-linear quantization to reduce data rates in telecommunication networks. The simulation was done in Matlab and VS2008.
