Cognos sources data from various sources and does not possess some of the Deutsche Bank high level reporting requirements. HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organizations in the world. HSBC GTAP was using Business Objects 6.X as a part of the Flex cube product. HSBC intend to migrate Business Objects from version 6.X to version XIR2.The scope of the project is to upgrade existing BO v6.5 into BO XIR2 without user intervention and provide the multilingual support. These involved studying the existing 6.x source Repository and identify the universe & document domains and designing the security metrics for XIR2 based on the existing security setup. Security was applied to all the repository objects like groups, users, universes, documents, categories which were migrated successfully using the Import wizard tool.

Responsibilities:

Involved in the preparation of Migration Approach, Installation and testing document for Business User.

As part of the regulatory requirements, all banks in Taiwan have to submit statutory reports to the Central Bank of China and JCIC.

FLEXCUBE is the Core Banking software being implemented at Tachong Commercial Bank (TCB), the regulatory reports will be generated from Flexcube. Flexcube itself has two systems mainly FLEXCUBE Corporate (FCC) and FLEXCUBE Retail (FCR) dealing with corporate and retail banking respectively. The regulatory reports require various kinds of data like transactional, Day end position, Month end position and Historical data.

FLEXCUBE Reporting System (FRS) provides an integrated reporting solution to generate Regulatory reports required by the bank The FRS system uses data extracted from FCC and FCR. The extracts will be written according to the requirements of the reports that will be generated.

UBS i-SPACE (Integrated Securities processing and Custody Engine) is a Re-engineering Project to consolidate the three primary securities processing and settlement systems in Hong Kong and Singapore, namely, WISPA PB (World-wide Integrated Settlement Processing Application), WISPA DEPOT and WEM. WISPA-PB is the multi-instrument, multi-currency and multi-branch securities settlement application for Wealth Management. The S&P Index Integration System (IIS) architecture uses Flux from FluxCorp for its scheduling requirements. Flux is 100% Java based scheduler which readily integrates into J2EE architecture with support for JMS, job persistence and job scheduling based on work flow model.

1. Project : UBS Strategic Cash Reconciliation (SCR) New Enhancements (off-shore)

Client : UBS – London.

Description:

The Strategic Cash Reconciliation (SCR) project has been set up to replace the Bank’s cash reconciliation system, CORONA, with a new third-party application, TLM.

Three separate instances of CORONA, all resident on the Zurich mainframe, currently perform cash reconciliations for UBS Investment Bank business in London, Stamford and Asia/Pacific, with associated applications, Global Fails, VDM and Lotus Notes, providing additional reporting and manual matching functions. All of these systems will be replaced by one global instance of TLM.

TLM will process the same (non-redundant) inputs and outputs as the system it replaces.

The SCR project implementation of TLM will be phased, with rollouts to Asia Pacific, London and finally, Stamford. CORONA, Global Fails, VDM and the Lotus Notes manual matching applications will be decommissioned as a part of the project.
